Did your lawyer say that? Because the way prosecutors work, especially with public defenders, doesn't usually have that kind of equitable outcome. They have the power of the state, you have some guy who probably has close to a hundred cases. The best you can hope is that your PD has a decent repiour with the prosecutor and can convince them it's not worth their time, but as a consolation you plead to some low pay a fine charge with no risk of jail time. And at the end of the day, it's the judge who accepts or rejects a criminal deal, I doubt the prosecutor will just drop your charges considering they can bring both your's and Tarl's statements in by the cop via bodycam.
