Why is the kid saying '21' being sent to counselling? Send the kid with the problem, not the kid who's acting like every kid ever after being told not to mention something.

What the fuck is everyone supposed to do in math lessons?
Onety twen minus teen eight is three.
The bit that bothers me is the existence of a "ten days suspension" punishment at all. Christ, expel the kid and put him out of his misery, at least then they could turn it into a lawsuit.

Title is misleading. Looks like the 'tist doesn't like hearing the number 21 because it brings him flashbacks of the war a math problem he had trouble with. A bunch of boys would say 21 to him to rustle his jimmies.

If Chris were in school today, kids might get in trouble for telling him "sonic is dead" just the same.

The mother of the autistic boy told WXYZ that her son broke down whenever he heard the number "21" because it reminded him of an embarrassing situation involving a math problem. The answer to the problem was reportedly "21."
"Twenty-one" is a really common number to hear, what with it being the legal drinking age and all. This kid needs therapy.

If those kids were actually bullying the autistic kid they're still little shits, though.
The boy's mother also said that Johnston's son was among a group of students who regularly taunted her child by saying the number "21." She said the alleged bullying caused her son to have severe panic attacks.
When contacted by WXYZ, school officials said that they were willing to reduce the boy's suspension if he agreed to attend counseling.
What would the counseling even involve, other than "don't bully the autistic kid, please."

We had an sperg like this when my junior high was experimenting with mainstreaming. His trigger word was "robot" and if he heard it he'd start rocking back and forth and screaming hysterically. Naturally everyone went out of their way to say robot as much as humanly possible.

This is conditioning the autist to react this way in public. Let the kid break down and adapt, don't give him a cookie for crying.

Believe it or not, there are actual autistic people out there who aren't complete egotistical shitheads who think the world must bend over backwards to fit their disability. I fully believe humoring and catering to this sort of ridiculous autism is what leads to a majority of lolcow behavior.

Ten day suspension for uttering a fucking number? Whoever approved of this needs to get fired, stat. Also, if that sped is triggered by something so ridiculously common, maybe he shouldn't be in a mainstream class, radical idea, I know.

So it's good for us then.
