Ah another reason for me to find her repugnant. I honestly can't dredge up much sympathy for big siblings/eldest children who treat their little siblings like shit. Especially not when one, again, probably could have dropped dead.

My little sister died when I was three at just the age of one and a half. Nearly 18 years later I still miss her with everything in me. My family cannot begin to explain how much we wish she was still alive and what we would give to have her. Fuck people who treat their siblings like shit, especially in the name of being a spoilt little bitch.

You don't deserve support, Kayla. You deserve a harsh dose of reality and having your disgusting ego knocked down several pegs.

Also by this point, Kayla was well into her teens, and by most standards should be more interested in helping her brother rather than the attention she is missing out on because he is ill.

It's pretty disgusting and Kayla should be ashamed of herself. She's acting like a bratty six year old mad that her parents just had another baby.

Or just buy a radio from Walmart. 10 bucks. All the music, none of the storage problems.

Not all lawyers talk in court.
Definitely not! There are lawyers in large firms who do research on precedents, estate planning lawyers, tax lawyers, all sorts.
My mother thinks that my father is mildly autistic, and he's been a construction lawyer for decades and has litigated major cases in court. People learn to adjust (shocker).

Which issues, Kayla? The "issues" where you're a system of multiple people and one of your thirteen lovers isn't responding to you right the very second now now now? Or where you need to use the internet to do things like apply to college and apply to job and get your life started?
I'm thinking the issues like how her parents wouldn't buy her a violin, which starts at $100 (not mentioning lessons) when she'd just want to do something else after a few weeks. Maybe the issue about how her music needs to not be on repeat as she sleeps? Your guess is as good as mine.

I'm sad we're not getting more Boss Zuri Time, because I'd be really tempted to break my no-contact tendencies to ask Badass Mob Boss Superhero why she's "kin" to such a complete sad sack.

I can't do presentations where I'm not allowed to be ~creative~ and be an ~actor~!!! Woe is me! :guvking:

Isn't the public speaking and math subjects that she despises so much often general education requirements in post-secondary education? Kayla will be in for a rude awakening when/if she goes to community college. But there are things we don't like in life that we have to face. We deal with them, and grow and learn from the experiences.

I hate how she thinks everything in life has to be handed to her on a silver platter with her putting little to no effort into anything. She can't even be a lawyer with this kind of attitude either.

Not to mention that you can be a lawyer without ever having to go to a court or whatever. You have to for law school/internship, but I have a friend whose job it is to review legal texts for legality. She sits in her office all day and reads and writes reports.

But this is Kayla. She feels nervous about something but by the time it gets through her Tumblr exaggeration, she's having her third heart attack and so triggered that she's sobbing and curled up in the fetal position.

I don't really quite understand why she's been hassled for not wanting to be a lawyer really. It takes a lot of training and dedication, and it's not work I would put in either.

There's also a lot of jobs you can get without having to be good at math or public speaking. The problem isn't that Kayla hates this subjects, it's that she's not applying herself to ANY subject. Whenever she's met with some kind of obstacle in her path (example, not getting a part in a local theater production), she just whines about how it's everyone fault but her own, then will probably go on to blame her parents about a phone or something.

God damn, she's still going?! Holy shit.....

She should try to do things that will form her as a new person. Whining is going to keep making her bitter and she won't make any actual friends in college.

As for her mom, well played. It's good that she's actively watching playing a lumberjack.

realtalk: little lady is not smart enough to be any kind of a lawyer

Kayla can't give presentations in front of a class, but she wants to be an actress? If she really wanted this, why did she slack off in high school drama? Why over any time in the past few years has she not worked on productions at her community college?

It's clear that the reason her parents don't take her acting interest seriously is that Kayla doesn't either.

I would take any parent believing their child could be a lawyer to be a compliment. They think you can not only get in to college, but law school!? How supportive!
What a privilage that you have parents that believe in you so much! No wonder Kayla is spinning this to be the worst thing ever! If she doesn't her tumblr group will realize she has parents who believe in her and is a lying liar who lies about her dark and tragic past.
Also NOBODY likes speaking in front of people, everyone gets nervous. But if you want to be in the real world, if you want to be a professional in anything, (other than professional complainer [keep doing what your doing, maybe make a comic book about your life, and a couple movies about people you don't like and she's half way there]) you have to speak in public!
This from an "actor"? The job where you HAVE to be in front of any and everyone, and they could boo at you, and you still have to smile?
I REALLY want to be optimistic, I really do, and say Kayla will meet people at CC and realize she's being a big big weiner... But nobody will talk to someone who sits in the back of the class and looks at her phone, glares at people, or gives defensive answers... Or worse compliments people's buttons... I want Kayla to grow, but she's really making it impossible to think that it could even happen.

Yeah, I don't blame her for not wanting to be a lawyer (isn't the job market for law school graduates in the toilet right now anyway?), but I agree with you that she needs to actually pick some kind of realistic career goal. It's striking to me that the jobs she wants -- acting, writing, voice-actor work -- are all Dream Creative Jobs that require a ton of talent, a ton of hustle, and a good amount of luck: in other words, not really realistic career goals for her unless she's way more talented and motivated in real life than she is on Tumblr. It suggests to me that she's setting herself up for years if not decades of windmill-tilting and complaining about "not getting breaks" while she lives off her parents, because she just doesn't have the drive to succeed as a creative professional but won't consider something else. (I don't think she's setting herself up for failure consciously or deliberately, but I fully suspect there's at least some conscious "I am ~special~ and should only have a ~special career~" thought going on.)

I'm trying to come up with a proper retort but I'm too busy snickering.

Is this real life.
