still in development

By the way, his pixel art is insane.

Do you think that his final character portraits he did were without references? Like I did watch some video on his Twitter or something about him getting better at pixel art on faces, but the last ones are incredibly detailed.
He almost certainly did, and I don't think it's a bad thing as most artists use references. His pixel portraits are excellent, had he not shown his drawing process I would've thought he took someone's portrait and applied a pixel filter to it, but it doesn't really suit his game's cartoony style and he even acknowledged that.

He didn't straight up rip off Stardew's trees but there's some clear resemblances.

The Last Night still isn't out. It was a prototype in 2014, got a cool looking E3 trailer in 2017, then the creator got cancelled for making wrongthink statements during Gamergate. He apologized and it's been mostly radio silence since then.

Someone on dev team (?) claimed it's still under development, as recently as 2 years ago.

This post just about sums it up.

Skyblivion/Skywind are mods I have been waiting for a long time.
I wasn't paying any attention to Skyblivion before 2025. It has blown past its overly optimistic 2025 release window, but maybe they'll get it out this year.

Some content might not be in the initial release (forgot where this was mentioned), and waiting a few months for some bug fixes would probably be a good idea. They are going to have broken quests galore.

I've only heard that Skywind has troon problems and is taking forever. I might play Tamriel Rebuilt with OpenMW instead, but I'm in no hurry and could wait a decade for it to be finished up. Or die first instead.

Every access game on my wishlist like Ultrakill. No I won't pay someone to test their beta build, that even if fun, will almost assuredly have every interesting part removed to appease trannies.

EA, more like Eternal Alpha.

I like World Of Horror even though its "released" the dev still works on it.

Had a kid recently so he is not working on it 24/7 now, but still.

I made one of the first mods for the game (a small yet broken event)

Yeah, to be honest this is the only TES fan project I ever cared about. Oh, do I really want (relative to modern) shitty Skyrim graphics for Morrowind content with very terrible voice acting? I'd much, much rather Daggerfall with Morrowind graphics. I mean, the reduced graphical overhead alone would mean tons. The biggest thing being non-spoken dialogue means a lot for quest and world dev. Skyrim mods already struggle with that.

I don't know what Skywind is doing, but I assume the future of Morrowind mods, total conversions, and new fan-made quest lines for Oblivion, Skyrim, TES VI, will be to use AI to convert all the text to speech. This can be done by getting lines from ElevenAI and including it in a fat mod, but there will be interest in generating it in real-time in the future, for a much smaller file size. The hardware we'll have in 2035 should make it easy... and maybe Skywind will be out by then.

There's a ton of written dialogue to sit through since Morrowind was designed with minimal voice acting, but you could skip any of it.

Beta Decay. I have no idea what this even is there are mechs and shooty and fent and I need to play it now now now.
Been following this one for a while, and it looks like a huge scam: on their website they mention that there will be two releases, beta decay(-) and beta decay(+) - all the cool ss13-esque shit like space travel with realistic atmosphere systems and colonizable exoplanets are in beta decay(+)

the initial release looks like it'll just be large maps with some kinda economy and base building, and all the ambitious stuff like continuous open-worlds, factions, procedural quests, cities, and space exploration will be in the later release.

the roadmap is here so you can see for yourself - a lot of really basic features still aren't ready for EA like cover systems and game-saving... so it'll probably just be a bog-standard shooter with some base-building at first and if they earn enough money they'll go do all the ambitious stuff. not optimistic about this one, especially considering that the alpha builds that were leaked and posted on youtube are literally just random shooter maps with zero unique features outside a somewhat cool mech cockpitt

I don't know what the heck the developer is doing, hopefully they're still alive.

The thread includes links to his YouTube and dev-vlog; if you are interested in game making, you will 100% be interested in these, or at least find the videos entertaining.
Be wary of artists that go into game dev, especially on more complicated projects (the genetic/evolution seems like it would take a lot of work even for a dev team). Kickstarter is full of similar projects.

I've been keeping an eye on this game for a while. I feared it was abandoned as the dev hasn't put out a new video since 2024, but he said on the Steam discussion page that he's still working on it:

I hope something comes out of it, it's a unique take on the monster raising genre among a sea of Pokeclones.
Big red flag lol, people don't watch dev logs to be entertained, they want to see how the game content is being made, and where its at. Even reworks would at least keep people satisfied that progress is being made.

I've been following this one for a while now, I wasn't entirely sure where they were going with it, and it kind of looks like they went with Urbz/Sims Busting Out in terms of their approach. Is it worth it? I have no idea. I mean sure it's a little bit girly in terms of style and identity but then again, the sims has also kind of moved in that direction and it literally came from the idea of playing with dolls so that's just gonna be the way that goes.
but as for the actual content? it at least appears dense on the surface. I was kind of hoping for a focus on multiple sims similiar to the sims 1 but 2d; but sadly https://steamcommunity.com/id/FloofyKhajiit/recommended/1429880 it looks like that wasn't the case. What do you think, would you try this game? I will say though I do kinda like the music

Yea, it was always in development, but it's been marred by incompetence by the studio lead Tim Soret, who was ignoring the development process and was just posting opinions on Twitter. For almost 10 years, The Last Night has been stuck in pre-production development hell for almost a decade until 2024, where production finally started with a programmer finally being hired.

It's to the point that three Belarusian developers who were inspired by the 2.5d pixel art and the cyberpunk setting of The Last Night decided to make their own 2.5d pixel art cyberpunk game that might interest you called REPLACED, which after 8 years of development since 2018 will release over the coming week on 14 April 2026. There is also a free demo of the game that has been released back in March.

We have a REPLACED thread in the Farms, with the OP having way more info and images: https://kiwifarms.st/threads/replaced.242966/. People are meme'ing that REPLACED has replaced The Last Night and the game being released earlier before The Last Night actually scared Soret and his team to quicken development of The Last Night with Soret putting more footage of the game in his Twitter page.
