I didn't even know he was that old, I figured his condition somehow mummified him and he'd live forever, since he never seemed to look different.

It makes me kinda sad when people meme about this kind of thing. Like I understand why you would laugh at Lil Peep and his garbage career, but they are people, and this one in particular did a lot for the world. Rest in peace, Microsoft Sam.

One fundamentalist Christian perspective is that he was a “lost, confused, and foolish” man...if you can believe that.

No really. Look.

That's not surprising. Whenever a famous person dies and they're a famous atheist, the Christers go mad with memes basically saying things like, "too late to realize you made a mistake now". There was a politician in Texas that said something to that extent afterwards and he was actually dog piled by other Republicans by telling him he was acting like an ass and to have a little care for his family.

I get that some people feel the need to insert their religious views into everything and I'm not just talking about Christians but literally anybody including atheists. There's a time and a place for everything. Unless the person in question is literally Hitler then give the proper respect at least to the family and don't be an ass about it.

I have zero scientific leaning as I find the pursuit of science very boring, I'm not atheist either, but I feel like the world has lost a valuable mind that everyone should be able to mourn for because people like Stephen Hawking don't come around too often. As someone said there's not gonna be too many people who can step up to his plate - there's gonna be a lot who want to, but very, very few who can. I know the internet is ruthless but I can't goof on a guy with ALS who slaughtered the odds and ended out a modern genius just to really kick the shit back in life's cruel face. Gotta have some real respect for that. F

Keep an eye on Attenborough...
We already lost Baron Richard Attenborought.. It will be a hard hit losing another one, specially someone as loved as Sir David Attenborough..

Hey Sheldon remember our friend Steven Hawking?
Yeah Leonard?
He's dead now.
*canned laughs*
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
*theme song plays*
OUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRR WHOOOOOLLLLLLLE UNIVERSE WAS IN A HOT DENSE STATE
You forgot a few Bazingas in there.

Elon Musk isn't obnoxious either.
I dont think he even counts as a scientists.
He's like a way better version of Steve Jobs (without the douchebaggness and the "I wont give a shit to anyone" greed style.)

Meh, my IQ is higher than his.

So.. you're a loser?

He's a scientist in the sense that he's a futurist and he has a lot of money to fund projects to match what he wants the future to be. But no, he's not a scientist in the sense that he's going to discover something. He just has the funds for it and he hires the right people to actually do the work.

Man, I was shocked when I learned he passed away. A bright star gone out but he will not be forgotten. And to think they said he would never make it past his twenties. May he rest in peace in the cosmos of the sky...

Using that description.. still no scientist.
He's a a VISIONARY TYCOON (kinda like Branson and maybe HUGHES before he went full batshit insane).

No being shot into space for Hawking. A religious service for an atheist seems like a questionable choice.
