I kind of expected him to live forever, in a weird way. Did he finally succumb to his ALS, or was it just age-related complications?
 
One of the few "celebrity" types that gives me sad feels when they have croaked.

I'm surprised he lived this long, but it was great that he died on this most irrational of days.
 
Bummer. He was a pretty cool dude.

I remember watching his Genius series on PBS, what I thought was a while back, but apparently almost two years ago, lol. It was really good, and I appreciate smart people taking the time to teach others how to think like them but do it in a fun, humble way. He was brilliant, but pretty chill in his brilliance, which is cool.
 
Gods speed Dr Hawking, you were hilarious as hell, you explained how the universe worked and stole some guy’s wife ... all from a wheel chair and battling a disease that picks and chose what’ll be wrong with you today. You were a stone cold badass and we will miss you so very much. I’m stepping through the door ... and I’m floating in a most peculiar way ... and the stars look very different today ....

We will miss you so.

Aw. Whenever I think back to this it feels like I can barely think it through at first. Like... How? I understand that he’s dead but this is Stephen -fucking- Hawking. It might take a while for me to process without being smacked in the face by disbelief, everyone’s so used to the thought that he’s around.

For who's regarded as such a brilliant man, I can't blame him if he's still too proud to admit like all humans, he wasn't perfect.

I can just imagine Stephen Hawking at the Great Judgement, God simply saying "Universe, was my creation, and for something you admired so much, how could you not think it had a creator? And with a Big Bang, Stephen Hawking is in Hell.
 
How do you guys even know when he "spoke" that they were even his words and not someone fooling you all playing pretend with a paralyzed man
 
No clue if it's still going on, but Science Channel was marathoning Hawking's show with bumpers honoring him last night, it was rather touching.
