A lot of people lost their life savings (idiots, but nevertheless) when Mt Gox was hacked and its BitCoin reserves stolen. Are we assuming that they'd have to be paid back before the owner is allowed to walk away with whatever's left? I think they should see something, before he gets a single cent.

Well, they could, right? But they'd have to hire a lawyer and file a claim in bankruptcy court to even hope to be, and I doubt that everyone who lost money can afford and/or knows how to do that.

If there's life savings involved, either it's a pitiful amount of life savings or they barely even tried. Japan has lawyers who work on contingency, too. If they couldn't get one alone, a bunch could have gotten together and made it juicy enough to interest someone. Yeah, it's complicated and difficult, but you're an idiot if you just let your life savings go that easy.

Of course, you were an idiot if you put your life savings in a "currency exchange" that started out as a Magic: the Gathering swap site.

Kinda of a necropost, but Stephane is still alive and well, sperging out on the internet. So here's a recap on major events with him this year.

A little backstory here. Ever since he bastardized Graal after he bought it people have been upset, so some people took an older version and made their own f2p servers for it. This is called Graal Reborn and is a major part of the history in this dumb Zelda knock-off barely anyone cares about. Unixmad has always hated this of course because people are playing his game without making him money. Not too long ago he DMCA'd literally everything. Killed the Graal Reborn forums and the github with all of the completely original proprietary server software that some enthusiasts have put years into making. He also reports pretty much every mediafire link that contains downloads for Graal Reborn. This has all but killed the community and forced them into hiding. Sure it's just a small obscure break-off from an already fairly unpopular game, but it just shows how shitty of a person Mr. Portha is. I would like to stress that this is a community of less than 50 active users that he has actively been trying to kill for about 10 years. How exceptional is that?

Aside from that, the original creator of Graal (conveniently named Stefan Knorr) who was still working for Stephane Portha aka Unixmad until a few years ago has made his own game called Avalonia Online. It's basically the same game but less bad (which isn't exactly something hard to do). A lot of people on mobile have started defecting over to that which has caused more sperging from Unixmad, resulting in him making sure all his mods ban anyone who mentions "Avalonia" in the chat on Graal.

To top it off Unixmad also took over the fan forum for Graal called Graalians.com and from my understanding fired all the mods he disagreed with. He has to make sure nobody has a viable outlet to post criticisms about him or his game. He's also been making a ton of random websites about himself, with some claiming HE MADE THE FUCKING INTERNET AND LINUX. I wish I was kidding, this guy is seriously narcissistic. Here's the about section on one of his dozens of websites:
  • Stephane Portha was pionniers of networks by creating in 1980 the first French Internet news network then Portha was part in the launching of the Minitel in 1983 and then Portha took part in 1995 with France Telecom in the creation of the first Internet Cable. Portha greatest passion was always creating video games and he create the famous game Graalonline.

I used to love Graal back in the day, I played the shit out of it. But with a limited game budget I'd rather get something new for my Gamecube than spend it on this. If you didn't pay to play you basically had to start from scratch every time you played, it didn't save your progress. So eventually getting stomped in PvP game modes by people who had been playing forever got old.

It's been over ten years but I vaguely remember anytime Unixmad was on the main server he was a huge dick. Getting into slapfights with people, threatening to ban people, etc. All the regulars rushing to be the first one to suck his dick.
 
Stephane Portha absolutely is nothing but a cyber pirate, as is Stefan Knorr who claims to have created Graal but did not. Stefan Knorr coded a Zelda Online replica, and when the two realized nobody wanted to purchase this, they renamed it to Graal. The tile editor he created was released to the public, then the two used Zelda and the freeware to lure game developers in at which point they stole all of my games & rebranded themselves a game development company to steal my customer base.

These psychopaths have many enemies. Stefan Knorr plays innocent but I have enough evidence, and I know the truth because this is more or less my game. I created the company. They have recently begun to scrub my name from the game as if history doesn't exist; Graal Online is nothing but a giant racket, and if there's one thing Stephane Portha deserves more than anything it is to be thrown in prison for the rest of his life, lest execution save him from the hell he deserves.

If there is a God, this will come to an end soon enough. Let that be on His conscience.

I could see that you were on the staff at one point. Not as anyone important, though. Brian E. Bryant AKA Antago is almost infinitely more interesting than Unixmad as I've discovered. He's been "building an anti-graal" movement for the past year it seems like, they all themselves "Mongers." He's been running his forums through the website of a media company that he either owns or works for (cannot confirm one way or the other yet) but it is not linked anywhere from the public homepage, you have to go specifically to this URL (http://jest.media/converse/index.php) and as you can see when you remove the /converse/index.php from the URL you find a fairly normal appearing community arts webfront.
