This are games that I found interesting during last SteamFest.

Great Turn Based Games
My kind of games; sit back, relax and take time to plan out your moves...

A turn based tactics with interesting character mechanics and great setting.

A sort of card game turn based death race game, and a unique game.

There's meaning you just have to dig for it
These games have a interesting message that you can't help but come across when playing.

An interesting rogue-lite turn based tactics game where each card is a hand.

Read and transcribe broken letters in this eyrie typing game.

Straight To Action
Games where the action shines above all else.

A 2D roguelite shooter that takes a lot of inspiration from Stalker lore.

A 2D physics brawler with fun mechanics and chaotic action.

Great Spectacular
These games might not be hard or challenging, but they definitely look great!

A 3D adventure game where you evolve your character to pass puzzles.

A souls like with a nice presentation and well fleshed out mechanics.

Genres That Need Love
These games bring life to some not so popular genres

A Warcraft clone that gets its mechanics right and is somehow still unique.

A point and click adventure with an interesting story.

Relaxing
Games to sit back, relax and enjoy

A sort of rope puzzle game. Very relaxing.

A game where you brew your own potions and manage your potion show.

Lost At Sea
There's an obvious theme for these games that they portray really well.

Unique multiplayer Co-Op game. Set out at sea, repair your ship, upgrade your ship and fight with your ship.

A open world fishing game with lovecraftian undertones.

Didn't really check out SteamFest but I appreciate the recommendation list.

Didn't really check out SteamFest but I appreciate the recommendation list.
the page is still up: https://store.steampowered.com/sale/nextfest
some of the the demos have been removed since then, but the rest you can install right from the list.

some games I wishlisted, my top 3 so far:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1224030/Erra_Exordium/ - 2d action adventure, great atmosphere and pixels. there's something about it I really like, but can't really pinpoint. prolly one of the games I look forward the most
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1402120/9_Years_of_Shadows/ - metroidvania, 2nd on the list
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1096140/Timemelters/ - strange title and game, took me a while to figure out, but then played much longer than expected. already out, early access tho. it reminds me a bit of those weird late 90's/00 games with trying new stuff, even if it was a bit rough around the edges. it's basically a third person puzzle game where you use your former timeline's actions to solve it. like kill 1 enemy, reset time and now you fight with your former copy.
would say to definitely check it out, but the demo's not available anymore sadly. and it's done by 3 people so it also gets an underdog bonus.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1730590/The_Entropy_Centre/ - portal clone, with time instead of spatial manipulation
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1159090/Zoria_Age_of_Shattering/ - if you liked divinity or the pathfinder games you gonna like this one. first dialog already has the feminists riled up, have to wait and see if they cave.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2081080/Capes/ - turn based comic heroes, from the guys that made hand of fate.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1963040/The_Lost_Village/ - anno with rpg elements? at least judging by the screenshots, because the demo was in chinese. might be interesting at some point, but since the future next fests have a "one time only" clause they might have fucked themselves over with it.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1582500/Purple_War/ - you miss the RTS warcrafts? I got you bro!
https://store.steampowered.com/app/973070/Bound_By_Blades/ - feels like a mobile game, however it does have a certain charm. loop is maybe a bit boring for some since it's heavily influenced by monster hunter (so all you do is kill bosses for loot to kill bigger bosses for better loot).
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1731070/Asterigos_Curse_of_the_Stars/ - imagine aloy from horizon in a soulslike, except not looking like nikocado this time. already out, but with a fair price. would say play before buying, but demo is already gone.
honorable mention: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2061230/Chasm_The_Rift/ - already out, played it way back when, might have some boomer shooter charm for some.

reposting from another thread, point&click adventure games:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1605320/Unusual_Findings/ - first impression is maniac mansion riding the stranger things wave, but that doesn't necessarily have to be a bad thing.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1967390/Lenny_Loosejocks_in_Space/ - similar vibe, but without the 80's pull (just "classic" point & click).
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2091740/Press_Lex_to_Metaverx/ - monkey island with 90's references?
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1848440/Foolish_Mortals/ - broken sword meets gabriel knight
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1692550/The_Journey_of_AutUmn/ - machinarium vibes with handdrawn graphics
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1116480/Slender_Threads/ - quirky nu-lucasarts artstyle, mite b good
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1581680/Stories_of_Blossom/ - handdrawn graphics again (gotta admin got a soft spot for those), and while I don't expect to be blown away I look forward to wholesome and SOVL
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1578990/Midnight_Girl/ - interesting artstyle and inspiration (paris and belgian comics from the 60's, although it's not ligne claire)

Capes really looks like my kind of game lmao.

How did it slip under my radar?
because turn based or superheroes?
the former usually has at least a few games, either darkest dungeon clones (which didn't do anything new really) or jrpg (which doesn't need to be bad, even if the first impression hardly puts it above a gamemaker asset flip).
