So when you play games you get steam trading cards, which you can use for autism, or you can sell them and get like $0.08. So I always sell them. I just sell them at market price. Is there any reason to hold out and make more money? In all honesty, no one should pay for these, but people do. What's the best way to flip these cards? That's what I care about, but if you wanna talk about other shit that's cool too.

I always sell them for a few cents as well, but I think you can do crafting stuff with them.

The main reason people spend money on them is the aftermarket results of games with markets or other things. A lot of people after wheeling and dealing guns in CS:Go or such, or people who need to use steam cards to get games because of living in regions with poor payment options, etc etc, tend to have money in their account that isn't large enough to buy anything other than cards. And I will happily take that money from them.

Wait you can sell steam trading cards on the market? Damn I thought that shit was only good for making money off TF2 and CS:GO.

I can't say I'm a fan of the whole Steam Trading Cards thing - because without having even a semi-regular influx of cards to do stuff with all you have to work with are the cards you get from the participating games you own. And it's always 50% rounding down of the set of cards for the number of drops because I forget how you're supposed to earn more drops but it ain't easy to do in the short term.

What makes it truly annoying is how these arbitrary cards are tied into earning badges, which in turn increase your "steam level" and every ten levels the chance of you getting a booster to drop by RNG is increased by 10%. After you burn all the card drops, you don't necessarily need to even play the game ever again and earn achievements, as it has no effect.

I like the little badges you can get. It's fun finding a booster pack in your inventory.

Though the chances of you getting them are slim to none unless you've somehow become the embodiment of luck itself as a concept or more realistically spent time or money on crafting badges.
