I have my eye on Toxic Commando. A demo is a demo. If I'm not paying for it, I'll give it a try.

It's basically Parasite Eve which is something I didn't know I wish I had more of.
Try Wicked Seed - it looks like a Unity Store asset flip, but it plays great, and the rough edges can be forgiven when you know it was a game made by a single guy.

As for demoslop, I've been eyeing a few titles:

Hark the Ghoul - looks like a neat immersive sim
Iron Blight - Russian first person RE clone, look okay, though the map design could use some work
RadCity - looks like an interesting "isometric" action/exploration game

Is that the John Carpenter one? I would love a decent L4D-like that doesn't end with tide.
i saw this advertised on my steam page a long time ago and i was intrigued so i looked into it and apparently john carpenter is only doing the music for it and doesnt really have any involvement in it, im not a big john carpenter fan and im not gonna like moral fag about that one way or another but that all just seemed weird and gay to me and i completely lost interest in it

It's irritating that games journalists get a link two weeks ahead of the actual start and end up affecting the demo algorithm before the nextfest actually starts. Also holy shit there's a lot of friendslop this round.

All the hype for the Steam machine has died down, it is still the kind of system I'm looking to acquire despite there being no news yet.

I'm assuming the Steam engineers thought 8 GBs of ram is enough despite the consumers heavily disagreeing, so they'll have to hold out during the ram shortage.

Dverghold. Old school first person party based dungeon crawler. Developers are certified chuds.

Is there a website to properly search next fest? Steam is so bad and I don't want to have to go through all the slop with just tags

If you enjoy "gambleslop" games like Clover Pit and Luck Be A Landlord, suggest giving Scritchy Scratchy a try. It uses scratch tickets as the main theme and has plenty of mechanics that you're not just scratching them mindlessly. Very much worth a try.

Give Underkeep a try, another pretty good blobber I found during Next Fest.

I'm going to shill Boost Vector EX, a runner game that originated on Roblox but was rebuilt for a steam release. It's really freaking fun. Maps are windy with boost pads everywhere and it's all about going as quick as possible.

Also shilling Rollin' Rascal. It's a 3D Sonic game with a different skin and tighter controls.
