A Conquest with s-modded Auxiliary Thrusters and Elite Helmsmanship is pretty much a cruiser with dual Mjolnirs.
The big question to be had is whether the Conquest's speed is still that great in a world of ultra-aggressive Remnant/shroud fleets, and Threat fleets that need to be slowly chipped away.

Conquest barely had a problem with speed, if it did it was a skill issue for being out of position. It got its speed buffed too iirc, so even less. Shield, armor, and hull are the main issues but again don't be retarded with your positioning and builds. Unless you're heavily outnumbered and outgunned, you can throw a few conquests with good support and you'll never really go down. The logistics will do more damage than most fleets, and that's mostly just a headache.

Starsector modding is cursed by the usual trannyshenanigans, but is also blessed by being relatively AI-accepting, check this shit out:

There's other AI mods out there where people just let AI take the wheel without the competence to audit it and for that I'll admit concern, but looking at it objectively I don't know how that's any worse than letting a dilettante human run arbitrary Java code on your machine (I sandbox modded Starsector heavily)

My stance towards AI code is that I'd rather devs be open about using it and how they used it. What that dude revealed feels like a good use for it.
That's the other nice thing I've noticed about Starsector, there's plenty of new mods on the scene where they're explicitly AI-generated with minimal drama surrounding the fact, presumably in part due to the disclosure.

Looks fun, think I'll try it out when I'm done with AC8.

These guys swear they're super cool and theyll help you get your CD key back if you lose it, as long as you can confirm you bought the game, but they only ever ignored me. I tried reaching out like 3 times. And yes, I had proof I bought the game at the time.

I know, I can just use Sseth's CD key, but them just taking my money and ignoring me, kind of soured me on the whole experience.

i don't get it, i mean the gay AI hate was always people poking fun at AI generated content with it's anatomical fuck ups rather than actual hate, which begs the question if the ai-hating trannies thought people were on their side?
for coding AI is pretty good, especially claude nowadays, you don't even need to bother that much with programming logic, just toss the error code do claude and it'll fix, other models might differ but that's on you for being a cheapskate.

IMO there are too many mods that just add needless RPG progression to ships. The player is already OP as all hell, he doesn't need twenty extra S-mods on top of his unique ships, max-level officers, and player-piloted Radiant.

What SS needs is a mod that adds player-level NPC fleets, which roam around doing the same kinds of things the player does, following different archetypes. A merchant that buys low, sells high, and takes trade missions from bars. A pirate that goes around laying down comm sniffers and attacking merchant fleets in hyperspace. A commissioned Hegemony officer that tries to raid planets from governments that are at war with them. All of them with leveled captains and specific builds, buying and salvaging ships when they can.

That or multiplayer. I saw a bunch of proof of concept mods a few years ago, and it seems like the technical hurdles have all been cleared. It'd be a slog of edge-cases and special handling, but that's the perfect use-case for an LLM. The days of "let's add multiplayer" being a deranged request made only by tech-clueless ten year olds are over. Kenshi modders have famously got it running already.

Disagree with that. You absolutely need to know how the code is supposed to work, but AI spares you the time spent actually writing it.

Basically, it's for situations when you kind of want to build some small side project, and you're confident that you could, but it really wouldn't be worth your time to actually do it. You outline your intended approach, the model takes an hour or so and gives you back something that fits the spec.

There's a mod called Star Lords that adds something like that.
I've seen it, but it doesn't really do the whole 'symmetry' thing, IIRC. It just adds a bunch of respawning fleets that fight it out in the core worlds.

I was thinking about trade caravans that persist and have a fixed money supply, pirates that go around stealing ships and using them, and so on.

I just realized there's space for a new mod: Saarsector. Similar to early mods which added factions based on America, Russia, China, and the EU, Saarsector would add a faction based on india.

Ships would be painted in the national colors, with noticeable brown stains. All ships would have a system similar to the Orion Drive, which leaves a toxic brown cloud in the ship's wake as it propels itself forward, with an appropriately wet sound effect upon activation.

Officers recruited from the new faction would lie on their resumes, claiming to be level 7 with 6 elite skill certifications. They would all be set to timid personalities, and would have no skills by default, but would only cost 80 percent of a standard officer's salary, and would provide benefits allocated to standard officered ships. A random event in which female crew file sexual harassment complaints and receive credits from the player's account would occur when one of them is assigned to a ship.

Patrols would randomly approach the player and request Apple gift cards. Upon being denied, they would curse the player out in hindi.
