I kinda like that this game is sort-of educational in that you can mine real ore and identify elements from the periodic table and that they explain a few things about ships and space travel. I'm currently on the planet Titan and a tour guide is explaining that they harvest methane and and ethane, which are hydrocarbons that they extract and sell off world and has practical uses such as heating and can be converted into breathable air via the use of microbes.

One of the stewards I passed in Homestead even said "you get used to the smell after a while" so sometimes there is actual thought put into these colonies and how they might function.

But at the same time THERE'S NO PHONES OR EMAIL and it's goddamned boring so people who play this are going to struggle to absorb it.

Starfield may have the worst looking guns in video game history. That's what happens when you have people who hate/dont understand guns designing them.
Yet another bad part of Fallout 4 that Bethesda learned nothing from and doubled down on in Starfield.
honestly, the terran armada DLC guns has this grating plastic baby toy rattling sound that i'd wager is only pleasing to annoying faggots that make videos about gunshit like the one posted...
i had to pick a mod to change delta's inventory and give him a particle gun so i don't hear the CRACK CRAP CLAP SHREEEK every single fucking time that fucking idiot reloads his gun, same for the other companions, they always rushed to pick the terran armada baby toys, i had to scrounge for sharted space particle guns or use the cowboy themed ones because they don't play these shit sounds.

if gun design implies this annoying gay shit is a must, i am totally fine with what bethesda does, double points for annoying the gunfags, annoying shits.

One of Starfield's funniest quests is for the Arasaka ripoff faction which I think is called the Ryujii Corporation or some shit.

The corpo bitch tells you she wants a coffee but it's a special coffee from the cowboy planet so you

Leave the corpo building, loading screen
Leave Neon, loading screen
Enter your ship, loading screen
Fast travel to Cowboy world, loading screen
Exit your ship, loading screen
Enter the coffee shop, loading screen
Listen to the npc's quirkchungus dialogue
Buy coffee
Exit coffee shop, loading screen
Enter your ship, loading screen
Travel to Neon, loading screen
Enter corpo building, loading screen
Hand corpo bitch coffee.

Are you seriously telling me this hideously dystopian and dysgenic world doesn't have Spacedash or some other slop delivery service?

Also keep in mind while reading the above description of this quest that Bethesda is genuinely confused why Saarfield failed.

Same with the quest from the black science man who is studying the trees near the MAST bulding on New Atlantis, at one point the quest sends you to Akila City to pick up an old branch. Another dumb quest - although shorter - is the one with the janny at the station under the MAST building, she wants a special blend of coffee from a store near the SSNN* building. It's tedious as fuck. I bet even the MMOs have stopped doing this shit decades ago.

*the SSNN being the only source of information is another thing that I find worrying in the worldbuilding of Starfield.

Bro I'm doing the 6th Ryujin assignment where I have to steal more corporate data and the quest leads you to believe you have to study a guy's routine to access his computer to get his files while he's away from the office.

You don't have to do any of that. I simply crouched behind him and accessed his computer WHILE HE WAS USING IT. No "this person is busy" I just hacked his computer while he was typing away FFS

Former Bethesda dev Kurt Kuhlmann spills the tea on Starfield, thinks a sequel is unlikely because the original game flopped lol
Devastating news to the dozens of Starfield fans.
i mean starfield fans are xbox fans, how do you insult someone who has nothing?
Kuhlmann also said in earlier interviews that most devs at Bethesda wanted to do TES6 after Fallout 4 but Todd said “No, we’re doing Starfield”.
that was before or after he forced them to shit out 76? i know that piece of shit TESO is from kikemax.

Wasn't 76 a B team project from Bethesda Austin and a bunch of their support studios? All Bethesda Maryland really did was creative guidance, concepts and worldbuilding while they were slapping together Starfield.

That's what Todd would want you to believe. BGS did basically everything in the launch version minus the tech, which while how shitty it ran was a major reason people hated it, it was far from the only thing.

Coming from modded Skyrim it's shocking how little Starfield has for mods after three years: No Bodyslide, no voiced follower mods, barely any armor/clothing mods, and so many more. Mods are also starting to be abandoned with several popular ones not getting updates since the last patch in June.
The creation kit and everything modding side was harder due to the engine changes, on top of the game being so bad, it made even prominent modders give up. One of the more famous/funniest news of Starfield I heard was (I think) the xEdit guy flat out stating that it was not worth doing anything with it.
Modding was doomed from the start, no matter what Bethesda did no one wanted to mod this piece of shit game. It's a miracle that enough people stuck around making Star Wars mods to make Star Wars Genesis happen, but that's it really.

https://youtube.com/watch?v=1xRwKdXXp2sWhile not worth buying or even pirating Starfield, it's definitely a good option if for some reason you have it installed.
It's really impressive if half of the stuff written on the mod site is true plus the video. Did anyone tried to play the mod? Morrowind Starwars mod is really good.

Working for Bethesda must be a dream job. Couple hundreds of employees sit on their ass all day doing fuck all and dlc that the capable people manage to shit out are outperformed by modders working for free.

I chucked money at the Shattered Space DLC while it was discounted and have just done the quest where I have to help a lonely old man with Alzheimer's clean up his home, and he asked me to keep a music box so he can't keep remembering his dead grand daughter who was caught in the planetary disaster. Her absence is why his house has become so messy and why he's not taking his medication.

This quest is short and not at all complex (you have to put all his rubbish in a bin while searching for his things) but emotionally it hits. Emil clearly wasn't the one who wrote this. Was it Will Shen?

One of the things I noticed is that you actually have the option to be cruel to him as well - for example, when he asks if he and the player know eachother one of the options is "yeah, and you owe me money". For a game that's been painfully inoffensive so far that stood out to me. Also, when he insists you take the music box another speech option is to brag about how much you think you'll get for it. Cold.

Damn, no way Emil wrote something that equally heart-touching but vicious.
