The ginger was mediocre but he seemed to have some pretty over the top feats and saber skills for a mediocre padawan who hadn't done any training in 5 years to the point where he even somehow could control the flow of time (which they only gave to him because of "muh Emo Ren" reference) and survived getting stabbed through the fucking heart and then brushed it off with robot insta-heal in a cinematic rather than in gameplay.

I mean how people just seem to always over look this dumb moment is baffling.
I don't think it was the hear through

So on the same day news started spreading around about Heart of the Jedi outselling Disney shit, the book already got its first assmad Disney reviewer.

This angry nigga bitches about the book being awful due to focusing on Luke & friends which will "cause us to go back to the stone age" while claiming its unlicensed but doesn't even know that the book was an official but cancelled post-ROTJ story from 1993. He also bitches about Old Republic being woke for some reason despite wanting stories about the High Republic.
I googled his name and the first result was the Twitter account of a furfag who is also a footfag.

Returning to the thread to drop this video that randomly appeared on my youtube recs from that Templin Institute franchise lore channel that some might find mildly distracting

Nothing fancy, just some "If I could rewrite this garbage from scratch" shit-shootin I found pretty ok and not just a rehash of the old EU, and which might be of interest to any others melancholic over how easily the trashfire sequels could have been improved if anyone involved in the creative process gave a shit

Well... Can't say I'm surprised...

I think what bugs me about both games is the resorting to white guys as the protagonist. And I hate even more that SJWs have ruined the ability to complain about it.

It's just... this is Star Wars! We have 8 gazillion aliens out there, we can't get one to be a protagonist? Part of why I love Jedi Academy is that I can make weird main characters.

Heck why not have a Droid protagonist? You could even have it end up simulating force abilities through tech. Using literal upgrades as a mechanic to explain why you're getting stronger as you go. Or maybe be a cyborg. Can you imagine Fallen Order playing as General Grevious? Then you wouldn't have to worry about all this canon weirdness.

I swear dealing with companies reminds me of:
Stop learning the exact wrong lessons from sales, you over-educated business majors.

Some nice art, but they still rely on the NR being complete morons to make the FO work, keeping the DT's story intact and using elements from Chuck Windbag's books to "make the backstory work". The only thing of note is the structure of the FO's government which receives more detail in this but is still dumbed-down by the fact that its still the FO trying to continue the same crummy plot instead of a complete re-imagining of an imperial remnant for a cinematic feature.

Also they seem to be drooling over one of the dumber moments of the new Bad Batch cartoon in how the Empire handles Kamino and clone production.

In other news, Freddie Prinze Jr. (that Kanan character's actor from Aladdin's Rebels and Bad Batch) got into another gay twitter spat after some started criticizing his awkward voice over in Filoni's new cartoon. Only reason this is noteworthy is because its becoming increasingly easier to bait him.

You would think with the career that he has had. He would take criticism easily

"Buh-Buh-But, we shouldn't have this book because it's KnOT LYsinZED...it will send us back to the SToAN age. You know, this book that is outselling all of the current Disney ones. Luke is OnE RODE. OnE ROdE! And nobody wants that....nobody except for all of the people buying books on Amazon who are starving for genuine Expanded Universe."

Cal Kestis was a Padawan when Order 66 happened, so the ridiculously overpowered depiction of abilities in The Force Unleashed aside, he's not going to be as strong in the Force as other Jedi.

Most Jedi wouldn't be able to withstand a lightsaber to the gut either. But for some reason, this schmuck who didn't reach full Jedi Knight when Order 66 happened, can somehow withstand a lightsaber to the torso when a master like Qui-Gon Jinn could not.

Force Unleashed was made in 2008, when white, buzz-cut MMA dudes were all the fuzz due to the FPS/bald space marine craze which occurred in that time.

Fallen Order, on the other hand, originally had Cal Kestis be a woman, but they changed the character to male because they're afraid that Cal might steal Rey's spotlight.

They could have just taken from the best of what the Thrawn Trilogy and Dark Empire series in order to make a successor trilogy. Maybe even one where the revived Emperor Palpatine and Grand Admiral Thrawn fight side-by-side against Luke Skywalker and his New Jedi Order which protects the Republic. All the while, Darth Maul and his criminal associates play both sides to gain power behind the scenes.

Instead, they chose to rip off Legacy of the Force, one of the least-liked series in the EU, then they went full SJW with TLJ until they decided "fuck it" and made a bad copy of Dark Empire with Plan IX.

It's funny you mention that, because upon perusing the EU community recently, I saw this poll:

screencapture-reddit-poll-mxgs2f-2021-05-06-19_53_58.png

Which is weird, because 90% of the time I brows the r/StarWarsEU subreddit, it's the same eight or so people from ten years ago seething at the mere mention of LOTF.

I've also been getting into a few EU-centric channels on YouTube, some familiar faces like Ryan Kinel from R.K. Outpost, and other channels he occasionally does EU Podcast discussions with, such as Matt Wilkins of ExpandedUniverse.Com, O.G. Star Wars (who hosts EU Coffee Chart), Jade Shadow, Lethal Lightning and Open-Airlock Policy (whose Expanded University videos, I love). They have a lot of discussions, but unlike a lot of the Fandom Menace Podcasts, they spend a very refreshing amount of time talking about the EU, and the years they've spent reading it. And because they're all schooled in the EU, they're far more interesting to get insight on Disney's latest bullshit, because unlike Midnight's Edge or Doomcuck, they have EU knowledge that goes back decades that can be brought to the table. They're also a riot when they rip into Dave Filoni and his autism, which they do quite often. But what's interesting is that LOTF has come up a few times, and they all have glowing things to say about it--and they're all longtime readers. Open-Airlock brought it up and called it "nothing short of amazing", and Ryan Kinel described it and FOTJ as "his favorite part of the Expanded Universe."

So maybe the series is getting re-evaluated. It's difficult to say, but I'm certainly surprised to say any positivity for it, considering the near universal loathing I encountered when first getting into the EU a few years ago.

Speaking of Midnight edge. There was one time will they were talking about how the Fandom Menace goes beyond politics and how people like Filoni have to be mad that some of the stuff they created were no longer considered canon. Like what? Filoni's work is the only thing that survived the EU purge. What are those retards talking about?

Let's not forget you can have sex with an old lady and make another woman (who's also your slave) stay in the room and watch against her will.
You can do it in the room where her son slept as a kid, too. No wonder he wants to kill you afterwards.

It's mostly due to the fact that the Sequels did it even worse. But I'd take Dark Empire or Tales of the Jedi over LOTF any day.

As a story? Wow is it pointless. TFU might be boring from a gameplay perspective, but at least it had an interesting story that mattered in the grand scheme of things. Fallen Order literally cuts off its own ability to branch to the mainline series.
That is, I think, the least of its sins. Not all SW stories need to (or even should) connect to the main storyline. It just makes the universe feel smaller and more constricted.

I think what bugs me about both games is the resorting to white guys as the protagonist. And I hate even more that SJWs have ruined the ability to complain about it.

White guys are to Disney as aliens and droids are to the Galactic Empire, so thematically, it all works out, really...

Old?

Rex did not appear in today's episode of The Bad Batch, although he was mentioned.

The old contact that The Bad Batch meets with is Cut from the season two The Clone Wars episode "The Deserter", even though it hadn't been previously established that he and Hunter know each other, whom they help escape off world with his family.

This episode also put Omega in the spotlight, and she's so naive about the world outside Kamino that she was fascinated by dirt, nor did she know how to play catch with Cut's adoptive children.

But she is critical to the plot as she saves the day by sneaking past the Empire's clone troopers with the forged IDs needed to board the shuttle.

Hunter tries to send her away with Cut and his family as he thinks that they'll be able to give her a better life, but she runs back to the Havoc Marauder for a forced father/daughter-type conversation with Hunter where she says that she has a lot to learn, but chose to leave Kamino with The Bad Batch and Hunter says that he has a lot to learn too.
