Some media style guides use actor for both male and female performers. Some still say actress. It's about 50-50 I'd say.

I'm more partial to Sam Witwer's performance myself, and both his Palpatine and Sidious are pretty good too. But I will not deny that it was Peter Serafinowicz and his two lines of dialogue who made Maul so memorable, such a menacing evil design yet he had such a smooth calm peaceful and soothing voice that belays his Sith nature, it was perfect.He didn't even do the voice for Darth Maul's 30 or so words of dialogue
He did a great performance for the audio book version of Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter. If you haven't listened to it, I highly recommend, as he switches between the various character PoVs with different tones of narration and voices everyone, it's easy to forget it's just one guy doing everything.
I'll keep that in mind, not much of an audiobook guy but given how fantastic of a va Witwer is I can believe it.
Star Wars audiobooks have always been more like radio plays, with music from the movies and sound effects making it less just a guy reading out the story.

I'll keep that in mind next time I am in an SW mood then cause that makes it sound like it would be a far better experience than just a normal audiobook, I just recently came off a couple month long return to the IP after having kinda just ignored it for a few years due to not enjoying the sequel trilogy. A lot of stuff released since then felt like a mixed bag, including a return to SWTOR which made up the bulk of this binge, but I was glad to cap off this return with Fallen Order as just after I beat it and began playing Survivor I began to felt burn out set in so I decided I'd put the series down for a bit but after reading the community featured thread post about Maul's actor I decided I'd check the thread out.
