It’s not just Anakin though.Younger "fans" don't understand that TCW Anakin and the Anakin in the movies are basically seperate characters in personality and outlook, they dont work together and it makes the prequel movies jarring if thats really how Anakin acts and thinks. I grew up with the prequels and even i saw the night and day difference from the man that tried to be stoic and solemn in his duties as a Jedi and the quippy heroic and somewhat boisterous portrayal throughout the clone wars series.
The short series and the books and comics were far more in line with the original portrayal of Anakin and I would argue even were a better character both morally in many cases as well as how interesting they were. Where Anakin in the comics might question on how they conducted themselves in war or on the nature of being a jedi, TCW's would have moments of tard rage and casually commit a dozen warcrimes and make a joke out of it without really thinking about it.
Obi Wan is meant to be dry, measured, and often butting heads with Anakin’s cockiness and recklessness. But in TCW, he’s a quirky, sarcastic sidekick.
Dooku is reduced to a Saturday morning cartoon villain.
Padme is stripped from the political idealism she possessed (before George reduced her to concern baby mama) and is now a generic action heroine who has to tard wrangle Anakin whenever he has his occasional dark side sperg outs.
I also rightfully say that because TCW Anakin is a different character than the real Anakin, I could see him never butting heads with Obi Wan, never hitting on Padme with corny dialogue, never massacre a village of Tuskien Raiders in retaliation for his mother’s death, never tard rage at Obi Wan when Padme, and never rushing into his fight with Dooku and gets blasted with Force Lightning like a idiot in AOTC. Seriously, go watch AOTC’s lightsaber duel and see how TCW Anakin would behave in that duel. TCW Anakin would probably win in a heartbeat.
