You mean Alara? So, the official story of her wanting to do another show was BS?

Yikes, didn’t think Mcfarlane was that kind of creep.
It was a badly kept secret that they were dating during the first season... and shortly after they stopped dating, she left the show. It doesn't take a genius to see what happened there.

Well I actually was curious about why she left, and I did try to find out why, but nowhere I tried to find information about it had anything beyond “ she found another gig” as an explanation.

Not saying I don’t believe you, so I am not asking to discredit you, but rather I’m curious on how you found out about them dating to avoid being so embarrassingly out of the loop in the future.

None of the usual famdom places I looked into even mentioned that open secret as a rumor back when her departure was announced .

In fact I just learned about them dating.

No, she really got a role on a movie and another tv show. She had a cameo in the season 2 finale.
Sometimes it happens that actors don't believe that a show would go past the first season so they make plans while they're still shooting the episodes.

He also dated Emilia Clarke (the Emiliafags out there are still in denial and claim that he's gay and pretended to be with her).

It's not Trek exactly...but it's sure not bad.

it's trek for zoomers, to put it this way. more gags, gags are more on the nose and a lot more "easy" technobabble. I remember in one episode he literally says "do a search with these options" while looking for a certain place as if it were google maps, apparently "run a scan with these parameters" is too hard to understand. but yeah, still has the comfy trek feel which is even more exceptional these days where everything tries to ape GOT

wasn't the reason why alara left kinda stupid too? iirc it was because of health issues regarding her race - only to replace her with a female from the same race?

Her muscles were atrophying because of the relatively low gravity of the Orville, but they found a cure in the same episode. The in-universe reason for her departure is that she wanted to reconnect with her family.*

*season 2 of the Orville is lousy with relationship/family drama

All of the Hollywood gossip sites reported it.

hope it isn't as bad as it sounds. kinda apathic towards recent western series that I never bothered with the second season.

Despite having a lot of relationship drama episodes, Season 2 is better overall and halfway through it really finds its groove.

Just heard some bad news. Looks like Nog's actor Aaron Eisenberg passed away today. It's a shame as I just discovered and fell in love with Nog and DS9 this year. He was a good actor. So sad we won't see him as captain.

Farewell, Nog. You made us all proud.

So sad to hear about Aaron Eisenberg's passing.

I just watched DS9 this year and his arc was one of the most satisfying in the show.

I did quite a few fist pumps when he joined Star Fleet. I was like "Good for you Nog!" and to see him grow, develop, suffer, and ultimately succeed was delightful, especially for a character that wasn't listed among the mains in the cast.

RIP

Did we ever find out why Jake's actor was in so few episodes despite being in the main cast?

Beside child actor laws, I think also it just had the fact the writers didn't have a lot for Jake.
