I knew about the other TNG characters, but I didn't know they were bringing in other series. This messes with my head. Did B'Elanna just go from this View attachment 851381 to this View attachment 851382 ?

The STD virus is spreading to more and more shows. My guess is there will be no Klingon in sight in Picard, because they don't want to deal with it.

He looks like a cannibal on the Congo. Yeah, I don't get the obsession to keep modifying Klingons. On top of that, they always try inane ways to canonically connect them.

Just stick to the motion picture, thats the definitive Klingon. Here is an idea, make a new fucking alien, if you want to show off ya gota budget..

I blame JJ abrams for this. He probably redesigned so his company gets a kickback for the unique look.

Then, to get his grubby jew hands out of it, they did another even more retarded one....

What are people's thoughts on the episodes of TOS getting remastered? Do you like the updated special effects or do they remind you too much of what Lucas did with the OT?

I've got to admit it seems like a lot of work for very little improvement. I kind of prefer the original look, warts and all.

I think that if they took the animated series and completely replaced the animation while using the original soundtrack, you'd be fixing a real problem with the show. But again, probably not worth doing.

Well the 7 of 9 thing was a mild surprise....in a "holy shit they really are pulling out all the stops to get fanboys interested and will be straight up dong fanfic tier crossover storylines to chum the waters" way. Like I have absolutely zero expectations for the series to not suck but I may well google plot details a few months after its out in order to find out how they drove her story into the ground more than voyager did.

To be honest though, if they REALLY wanted to hook me they should have brought Kes back given how her actress has....well....matured

Also whose bastard daughter/bastard genderbent clone are we thinking mystery wammen is? The obvious answer is Picard's but I have a really bad feeling that she might infact herald the return of the darkest spastic fuckery to the star trek canon...

Not an expert here, but are they hiding Brent Spinde's age with makeup or CGI?

It seems to me it's just heavy make up they use to create aliens like they used with the Ferengi but some people are mentioning CGI, is that true?

Looks that way. I guess the show's budget couldn't cover de-aging CGI.

So someone mentioned the magic girl is an offspring of Wesley's the Traveler. But, didn't he go back to Starfleet?

Granted, who gives a fuck really? Could she be a young Q?

Probably some dumb "age deterioration implants" that androids can get to feel more human. Maybe he'll even have robo-diabetes

Actually, I think it's written somewhere in canon that Data CAN actually age. I forget how he accomplished this though, or whether it was a part of the original Soong design.

I think the more important question is:

Does Data have a dick?

We know he pleasured Yar at one point. But she was a butch lesbian in denial....

If 'Picard' is going to succeed, these questions have to be answered...

Soong made an android replica of his wife who aged naturally. It wasn't part of Data's original design but there was an implication he could build it in to himself if he wanted. They may have mentioned it in early seasons too when they were bouncing around a lot in regards to just how robotic Data was.

There was a thowaway line in that episode with Data's mother. Geordi said something about her having the same sort of aging function as Data. It was never mentioned ever again.
Now, would the morons currently in charge of the franchise be aware of that bit of canon? NOPE.
Data looked bizarre in the trailer. I suppose it was because of that "25% different" idiocy.

I mean he could be trying to experience the joy of pregnancy....

Since they clearly don't give a shit about previous canon, why not just pretend that Generations never happened (I don't even think most of us Trek fans would object to that) and do a proper Old Kirk and Old Picard crossover show?
