The discussion (on /tv/) is mainly centered around what breed of dog that is and why it's a shit choice.

Poor doggo looks like it has a docked tail too.

Fuck the Federation. I bet the Klingons don't disfigure their Targs.

Stoklasa was right, it's so bland and predictable. The whole thing feels like a checklist based on a Wikipedia page (just like STD). I don't see why Picard would have a vineyard. His brother had one but Jean-Luc wasn't into that business. What was shown in "All Good Things..." was just a vision of a future.

What was the last really good series that Star Trek had? I watched about a 12 episodes of discovery between 2 seasons and I felt the contrivance creep of bad writing slowly soaking into it. I miss the magic, my rainbow puzzle amigos.

DS9 was the last consistent good series.

Voyager and Enterprise had more bad eps than good, but some treasure in the trash if you're willing to dig.

I recall a TNG where Picard exactly talked about not liking animals except for riding horses.

Combine that with the fact (i think it was the director or another high ranked person who's involved withe making of the series) who said when we will meet Picard in the new series he will have made several bad decisions since Nemesis and it gives me the impression we are getting another shitshow

He got a tattoo on his chest that says "Beverly 4Ever".

I bet he let that fake data fly the Enterprise and it crashed.
iirc Sped Data basically stopped existing and Data took over his body because fuck Sped Data. Data then went on to become captain of the Enterprise

The other day I finished the first season of TOS. And you know what, I really enjoyed it. Some of the episodes still stand strong thanks to great writing such as The Corbomite Maneuver, Balance of Terror, and (of course) The City on the Edge of Forever. The effects do show their age though, especially with Devil in the Dark where the creature looked more like a giant melted pizza.

It is kinda interesting though that a lot of discussion of Star Trek today tends to overlook TOS in favor of TNG and DS9, at least when it comes to the fandom. I'm a little curious as to why that is.
