What is this? A screen for ants? Are UI designers in the 24th century retarded? The fucking thing is 85% buttons and 7% screen.

It's a full LCARS setup, too. I'm guessing that some contractor was too lazy to find the data cube for the mobile version and just used the edition made for 4'x12' displays.

The TNG tricorder looks like ass, I grant you, little screen that couldn't show you a fucking bus schedule, but we were talking about the original series.

Two twisty knobs like a television from '62. Captain, I'm detecting... hold on... no, that's static... wait, there it is, life signs, fuck, lost it.
I like how the TOS tricorders screen is still like twice the size of the TNG one lewl

LCARS is one of the worst interfaces. How the fuck do I search for anything? Is that why when they ask for something like, "Compile a list of all mentions of Darmok in this sector" it takes hours when I can do a google search and get results in less than a second? Windows 11 is more user friendly than this shit.

From what I remember of those old point and click games, you could use the computer but it was just an encyclopedia. You weren’t solving shit with it. Maybe you looked up a starbase so you could restock and that was the sole feature.

Trying to plot a course was a bad enough. You had to scroll to the Anus system, then you had to pick Anus Kappa, then you had to select Anus Kappa Clitoris III.:stress:

Did he survive the Maquis purge?
Thomas was in Cardassian custody at the time, he got convinced by Kira to stand down and turn himself in to save the lives of his Marquis conspirators. However because we never hear from him ever again it is assumed he died when the Dominion bombarded the Cardassian homeworld near the end of the war

I dont know how book canon treated him, but there's two differing results from the games. Star Trek online had him survive the war but die in captivity under Madred. While the Dominon War game had him rescued by starfleet and given command of a ship.

I know which timeline I prefer

For what its worth, Lower decks in a throw away line indicated that he survived captivity.

Edit: huh. Star trek online actually removed that mission and made it non canon. Nice.

we hadn't really hit on the idea that screens could be way bigger than a Game Boy until the modern smart phones

There were PDAs like the Palm Pilot in the 90s, but they stuck with the TNG-era PADD through DS9 and Voyager. Enterprise is the first to have a tablet-like device.

ehh the PADD was close enough 1791681693739.png

In the second and final season of Starfeet Quality Learing Acamy, Bill Nighy plays a piano, Starfleet merges with Nike.

The Space Zoomers wear jackets absolutely covered in the Starfleet delta.

Hey remember when you could buy those cases and orange bushes at an auction:

I don't know what's going on here, but it's probably retarded:
