Just skip the original series, for the most part most episodes are so dated with cheesy props it's hard to watch sometimes...maybe because I came up on next generation.which is by far the best series...it's on Netflix I believe, anyone who thinks janeway or kirk hold a candle to picard are fools. Fools!
Next gen also has the second best trek character, data.
Alot of people like voyager, they are dumb.
Nobody likes DS9.

Oh and nemesis and first contact are the best movies. nemesis has a young Tom hardy playing a picard clone. first contact is my fave movie out of the films. I like the borg.
You had me until nobody likes ds9?
what?
This is really confusing because it's half valid opinions and half just nonsense

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
It was so good. So fucking good. Had such a good streak. And then fucking The Reckoning.
Holy shit please DELETE wormhole aliens from DS9. They have gotten progressively worse as the series goes on. Series that used to criticize blind faith and religion is now sucking off faith like NO TOMORROW.
PLEASE TAKE MY SON ALMIGHTY ALIENS AND SHOOT LASERS AT KIRA.
fuck. I can tell I might get the urge to bash my head in when this dumb plot continues. I want more fucking Dominion, more gray morality, more comfy episodes like His Way and Our Man Bashir. Please no more gay "MUH PROPHETS". I want to shoot the dumb asshat that decided to make them more of a focus.

Shiiiiiieeeeeeeettttt In The Pale Moonlight was excellent. I can't believe I'm almost done with Season 6 already, feels like I was just on the fourth season yesterday.
Then it'll be time to go check out the movies. I'm kind of excited to revisit TOS, that should be good fun.

I never tire of Moonlight. I dug Garak long before that episode, but he was superb in that story.
DS9 has a pretty smooth flowing story once it gets going. Flew by for me too. When I do rewatches now, I try to pace myself better. I still notice new things each time.

Sorry, but you'll really hate Season Seven, especially the finale then.

Unfortunately, they set these pieces in place since the beginning of the series, so they had to do this crap sooner or later.

I did like the very last shot of the finale. The rest of it, even as the last chapter of a larger story, felt rushed as hell. the 3rd act of the story should have been a 2 or 3 parter. If done right, it could have been great. Instead we got bunk.

I like the Prophets/Pah Wraiths plot actually.

Maybe so. TBH I haven't seen all the episodes of TNG, not even all the episodes in season 7, and I don't really watch them in order. That said I just watched "Attached" yesterday and I thought it was good. I just generally felt that TNG got better as it went along as the actors got more comfortable with their roles and the production quality seemingly increased. But that may be heavily influenced by a pretty bad first couple of seasons. (It seems TOS suffered the reverse problem, with budget cuts and some bad ideas in season 3.)

TNG season 7 is weaker than 3-6 (not weaker than 1 and 2 though) but not so much because they were running out of ideas, but because the writers and producers had DS9, Voyager (which premiered only months after TNG) and the TNG films on the mind, and knowing that TNG was going to end and they had to crap out 20 or so episodes, they decided to do a few of the ideas they had wanted to do in previous seasons but couldn't (All Good Things, Parallels are two examples, the return of Ro Laren is another) and decided to treat the rest of the episodes as filler. As such, it has a few truly excellent episodes, and a lot of just meh or mediocre episodes and even a few truly awful ones. I'm glad they ended it when they did, since they didn't have to with the good ratings it had and there were ideas floating around for a season 8 (like bringing back the Vulcan character from Lower Decks, which sort of happened with Voyager). In fact, some execs at Paramount wanted TNG to run alongside DS9 and Voyager. Talk about saturation..

On a side note, TNG seasons 6 and 7 had a lot of cool ideas that never got into film for a variety of reasons. All Good Things history for example is pretty interesting.

I think I was a bit harsh in calling TOS "mediocre" in a previous comment. Rewatching it on Netflix now, and while I don't think it measures up with TNG and DS9, it's not a bad show for 60s low budget sci-fi. It has some great characters, and I'll take it over Voyager and Enterprise or the AbramsTrek any day.

Agreed, it could have used a lot more development, but I still liked it. It's not as interesting as the Dominion or Section 31, but I liked it and thought it was a lot better than Ron Moore's other forays into religion.

Agreed. Peoples exhibit A: The ending of Battlestar Galactica

Rewatching All Good Things.
"""Anti-time"""
Thank goodness for Picard, Data & Q.
Still very sad.
Old Riker is so terrible looking lol.

Ending is heartfelt :heart-full:
Watching Schisms tonight because it's spooky!

Holy shit did they actually run out of episode ideas for fucking Season 7. Take Me Out to the Holo-Suite is so dumb it ends up being pretty decent. Aside from me being annoyed that Sisko and Company are playing fucking baseball with Vulcans in the middle of a war, it's still pretty fun to watch. Chrysalis was also pretty good too, I was expecting annoying autism and got something sweet.
Also Ezri is cuter than Jadzia. I think it's kind of interesting that she's a Joined Trill that never planned to be joined, but her personality in the first 2-3 episodes was really damn annoying. Hopefully she gets better. Too bad Jadzia's death was horrible. There's really no point for her to die plus she was really great when she was with Worf.

Yeah, Jadzia should've died 2 seasons earlier or not at all. Ezri just has no time to come into her own.

Did you catch the Iggy Pop cameo in season 6?
If they really wanted to kill Jadzia off they had a perfect damn moment in Change of Heart. I wouldn't have even brought in Ezri right into the last season or the 6th. Honestly, another Dax on DS9 kind of kills the conflicts that come up with Jadzia's death. And let's not forget that it was really disappointing for her to be killed because she was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
I also have no idea who Iggy Pop is so nope.

That's true, but it also opens up room for other conflicts that you could only have in this sci-fi scenario, especially with Worf, so I'd say it was worth it in that regard.

I love how even Dukat commented on that. Twice, if I remember right.

They had to kill Jadzia off. Her actor wouldn't be back for the final season, and given all they had written before, they could not write her out of the show any other way, since they had no way of keeping her around since her contract was up and she declined to renew it.

In this case, the writers were left with no choice but to kill her off.

I've read up on that and I can't blame Terry Farrell. She dropped out of the last season of DS9 to play a character on a sitcom who was supposed to be relevant all the way to the finale. Too bad they dropped her after four seasons after changing their minds, but she still got more out of her departure from Star Trek than poor, poor Denise Crosby.

Shit, Once More Unto the Breach was incredibly feel-sy. Klingons are so great in DS9, I love Martok and Worf.
Season 7 isn't really bad so far. The only episode I didn't enjoy was the second.

I can forgive Sisko & company but why are the Vulcans doing it? The leader seems to have some kind of Vulcan autism but why does his crew go along with it?
Otherwise I think it's a really dorky but cute episode.
Vulcans are all autistic space elf assholes who lie a lot. They just tell people it's brilliant logic shit.

I enjoyed the baseball episode a lot, and even have the Niners cap, but it has always bugged me that the Vulcans not only took it up, but one used it as a way to goad a human. Made no sense.

Funny episode, but way out there.

It had some fantastic quotes though

Doctor Bashir: What are you eating?
Chief O'Brien: I'm not eating, I'm chewing.
Doctor Bashir: Chewing what?
Chief O'Brien: Gum. It's traditional. I had the replicator create me some.
Doctor Bashir: They just chewed it?
Chief O'Brien: No, they infused the gum with flavor.
Doctor Bashir: What did you infuse it with?
Chief O'Brien: Scotch.

Worf: Find him and kill him!
Worf: Death to the opposition!

Odo
: No player shall at any time make contact with the umpire in any manner. The prescribed penalty for the violation is immediate ejection from the game. Rule Number 4.06, subsection a, paragraph four. Look it up, but do it in the stands. You're GONE!

Vulcans were pretty much flaming assholes during Enterprise.
