Spocks voice actor isnt that great, (The performance itself is decent, he just doesn't sound much like Nimoy) but I like the writing of this so far. This could be good.

It looks good so far. It's a bit disturbing to say that these days, since Kurtzman is at the helm of the franchise. Is that Tom Kane doing a Nimoy impression?

I wish could give this both an optimistic and thunk-provoking rating at the same time. Maybe this could be better than Picard I don't know it's just so tiring trying to hold out a small glimmer of hope for a decent Star Trek series during clown world.
 
I think I'm developing Stockholm syndrome. Episode 2 was bloated and took to long to drive the story, and anything Agnes says is cringe, but it wasn't completely terrible. I could see a more competent team turning this into a good story. No doubt it will be completely fucked up in subsequent episodes.

I can see what is coming, 2024 Trump (or his stand in) is re-elected and that turns the world warlike. If thats what they do it will be absolute garbage. I don't think these writers are clever enough to pull off this story in a way that doesn't shit the bed. I'm also not sure this story needs to take 10 episodes to tell. This could be a 2 or 3 parter, instead its a bloated mess.

Yeah, the "Adam" Soong will probably be another lame Trump allegory.

It would be nice if this was seen as the "black sheep" of nu-trek, so they put all the "problematic" (ie hard science fiction) writers on it.

But who am I kidding, there is no escape from this. They'll probably put a trannie in scene one, episode one.
