Looks like that was early last season. I'm guessing we don't have any shots like that this year because they couldn't afford the needed wide angle lens with all the money they spent putting jets of flame on the bridge.

I'm sorry, I can't get over this... this was Season 1... she was reasonably attractive and maybe just borderline. c47gs0w0cm081.jpg
This was back in 2014 or so.

just came straight from the hood. Plastic trousers and training shoes.
Each year brings new and incontrovertible evidence that Kurtz is the polar opposite of a creative mind. I just assume he is ripping off every sci-fi property from now on. I put nothing past him anymore.

I like The Original Series. It is fun and rewatchable and told good stories. But The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine are orders of magnitude better in every respect. And do you want to know a secret? Come here down this dark alley and I'll tell you a secret.

I don't really enjoy any Star Trek movie. They are all pretty lame and inferior to the show.

How did this bitch get so fat? Did she just take all the STD money and spend it at Golden Corral?

Ironically I probably won't revisit DS9 too often.🤔

It was perfect for its time and place: the transition from comfy episodic TV to more story-driven, serialized stuff. We dove right in, and were thrilled by this new, complicated side to sci-fi. The problem is that those shows getting 'good' coincided with them becoming steeped in arcane mythology.

If this were VOY, she'd be shanked for hogging everyone's replicator rations.

Yep, Barclay is how you write and deal with an autistic character on a TV show, not the lame 'I have my special needs' of Tilly (fat).
nu-Trek characters are shallow parodies of their predecessors. Part of why pre-nu-Trek Picard was a good captain wasn't just his own characteristics but that he could bring out the best in his officers as well. Meanwhile Soy Trek thinks a "strong" woman is basically one who acts like an absolute cunt, talks over her officers, and makes idiotic off-the-cuff decisions, while talking like a second-rate Joss Whedon character.

Yeah, I've always found the "Roddenberry's vision is impossible to write for!!!" to be greatly exaggerated. Like really, Kirk and Bones didn't come off as humans? Characters in TNG season 1 were still humans.
You've got to remember the details. This was in response to a proposed idea of a CHILD on the Enterprise having to deal with their parent - a random redshirt- dying and using the holodeck to do so. Gene rejected the idea because "humans don't grieve" in the future.

I mean I can accept that for an adult main cast (or they grieve in an adult way) but a kid? One ten years or younger? THAT is idiotic.
A great contrast is how Picard doesn't let anyone give up on Barklay, vs that Short Trek where the chick is like "He was an idiot. Conversation over." Roddenberry's ideals of behaviour vs modern ideals... sadly.
110% this, however.

"Humans don't grieve" in the future that's kind of a sociopath thinking. No wonder why SJWs considered this show so left wing?

By the time of TNG Gene's brain was fucked from years of LSD and general dementia so he wasn't making the best decisions.

I think she got pregnant irl, but that's still not a excuse. Dr. Bev also got pregnant during 4th season. Even Michael herself got pregnant during filming, iicr.
