this show pisses me off in a way that makes it absolutely watchable. It's like a comedy of errors really. I just don't understand any decision that Michael makes. Yeah let's bring the bloodthirsty, genocidal empress home because mommy fetish. I'm not sure she isn't mirror universe herself. It's a shame shes still gonna be the main character, even if they get a competent captain.

Fortunately shes the only character I have a problem with. I didn't think Stamits' love interest was out of place and Lorka was the reason I decided to give this show a shot to begin with. I kind of wonder how he was able to blend into the Federation so well. He must have killed Prime Universe Lorka.

I basically think of this show like you're watching what happens on a jabroni Miranda Class starship

I can't wait to see how badly they try to force current-year politics into this.
They don't beyond some vague extremely shallow illusions to Trump's xenophobia really, that is one of the major issues in my opinion, completely wasted setting, absolutely no real commentary on anything beyond extremely shallow #Resistance hoo haa nonsense and no exploration of themes.

You have a War arc in a Star Trek show in 2017/18 and you don't even touch on the refugee crisis? The fuck?
Already back to binging DS9 and it's just such a fucking better show. (though admittedly, does feel a bit dated and daytime soap-opera-y at points)

i just finished watching TOS and i'm now watching TNG. I plan on watching though Deep Space, Voyager, and Enterprise. I don't know if i will watch Beyond though, It looks like a pile shit. Love TOS and the crew and i'm starting to really like the crew for TNG, On Season 2 of TNG and loving it.

I'm surprised, because Season 1 and 2 of TNG are pretty shitty. It gets good with the third when they stopped using unused scripts originally written for Phase II. Picard is such an angry man in early Season 1, it's hilarious. Also better uniforms in S3 and Riker fucks anything with a heartbeat. Yesterday's Enterprise in S3 is one of the best episodes of the show.

Watch The Orville instead of Discovery. They’ve got a few TNG writers on staff, so if you end up really loving TNG, you’ll more than likely like Orville too.

I have a episode guide of what to skip and what to watch, Their are many bad episodes in Season 1 and 2 however their are some good episodes like Conspiracy, Datalore, Skin Of Evil
I know people might not like that episode, But i liked it and RIP Tasha Yar.
and A Matter Off Honor. I love Riker, Data, Gerogie, Dr. Crusher, and Tasha Yar. I know later on the show's writing gets better and i can't wait to get to Season 3 and beyond.

I do have Orville on my computer, And i cant wait to start watching it although i'm not a big fan of Seth Mcfarlane i will give it a chance because i heard it was quite good.

The first two episodes are a bit hit-or-miss, but episode 3 or 4 is where it gets really good.

I actually liked "The Big Goodbye" of Season 1. Conspiracy was pretty good too and pretty dark for a TNG episode.
"Code of Honor" however, is the biggest piece of shit they ever produced.
Just make sure to skip "Shades of Grey" in S2. Other than that one, you shouldn't really skip anything.

This is the list i am using for what to skip and what not to skip for TNG, Perhaps not the best list to use but i don't want to be slogged down by watching terribly written episodes when i could be watching the better ones. Perhaps i will go back today to watch some recommended episodes i missed in Season 1 and 2.
Looks about right. Don't skip Samaritan Snare though, you'll miss the Enterprise encountering a species of malicious autists.

I agree with most of that. Still sat through all of them.
Chain of Command of Season 6 is also one of the best episodes.

If I had to pick one episode per season:

S1: Conspiracy

S2: Q Who?

S3: Yesterday’s Enterprise with The Best of Both Worlds a very close second

S4: The Drumhead

S5: The Inner Light. Darmok and Unification again a very close second

S6: Chain Of Command. A Fistful of Datas is actually pretty entertaining for a "something goes wrong on the holodeck" episode. Tapestry is also great.

S7: Obviously All Good Things. I like Parallels and The Pegasus too.

S2: Q Who?

Oh man, one of my favorite episodes. The borg were like an awesome mix of H.R. Giger-styled horror along with the fact that they can adapt to any tactics or whatever anyone throws at them, making them some great and terrifying villains. I also like how their origins still remain a mystery, making them all the more interesting, despite piloting geometric shapes through space.

In my opinion, if there was one thing I would personally retcon, it would be the existence of the borg queen. Introducing her basically defanged the borg as villains to be feared. What made them scary was that they're a conglomeration of different races linked into a hive mind via some circuitry in their implants, all acting as one and never stopping until they win. The queen, a drone with a degree of independence to act as their 'leader', watered down their unique fear factor.

Going through TOS and wondering where people got the idea that Roddenbery was this big progressive guy. Sure, he had a diverse cast, but half of them don't do anything and it's clear he was hung up on women for some reason.

Back in the 60s it was progressive to have all races working together and ignoring segregation altogether.

Now we can't have an episode of nuStar Trek without having our quota of Women of Color and faggot crewmembers. He was 'progressive' because he started to replace the all-white casts of most TV shows, and now TV shows are replacing white casts entirely.

Just look at the progressive BBC, making tv shows where they blackwash historical characters from Europe. I'm feel so culturally enriched!

Look at me. I'm Achilles now. We wuz greekz and shit

I have ALWAYS liked Star Trek more than Star Wars... But I have to say... Star Trek has been *bad* almost as long as long as Star Wars has been. (For the record, I am generally not a fan of Disney Star Wars.) Deep Space 9 was my favorite Trek by far... But Voyager is far more mixed... And Enterprise was really just baad...

And while I kind of liked Star Trek 2009... Its sequel "Star Trek in to Darkness" was so fucking terrible that it made me completely hate anything and everything even tangentially related to it... For the record, I still consider the movie that it totally bastardized- "Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan" to be in my top 5 favorite movies of all time, despite not even particularly liking the original 60's Trek. (I actually think most of the original Trek movies, save 1 and 5, were overall pretty good...)

Let us not even speak of STD. This is not Star Trek.
