I have to admit that I actually think that all of the rail shooter levels in Assault are pretty good (except that one part in the Aparoid core where enemies snipe you from behind where you can't see them, but hell that could also happen in 64). Also 64 had missions too that weren't that interesting. Like how nearly all the freerange missions except maybe Bolse just consist of shooting useless enemies for 40 seconds until a boss shows up.
Personally I thin the EH designs look worse. They remind me of bad Skyrim mods.
The trailer is like three minutes long, you aren't that busy.
Fair enough, I can understand that. It's probably just a matter of preference.
I don't think that the Nintendo models look great, but they look as good as they can for being as ungainly as they are. The textures and shading masks look great especially on the fur and feathers and the animation rigs are very well done. And that's not getting into the environmental graphics which are also beautiful in the Nintendo game in a way they simply aren't with Event Horizon. The Event Horizon models look baseline better because they're more traditional Western style anthro characters (think Robin Hood or the old Hannah Barberra cartoons) but the texture work, the shading masks, and the animation are all subpar and amateur. I wasn't being hyperbolic when I said that they remind me of badly done Skyrim mods, I wouldn't be surprised to see these models on Nexus. The voice acting is also really subpar in Event Horizon, particularly with Katt and Krystal. It's about as good as it's going to get using amateur VAs, and presumably cheap ones at that, but a good sound design can genuinely make up for poor graphics. Try watching something shot on VHS but with digitally recorded/remastered sound sometime, sure the video is crunchy but the sound being crisp makes it much more watchable and I think that this is terminally overlooked when discussing video games.
It was a good experiment on paper, but the execution was terribly flawed. Had the default ending be less bitter, I'm sure it wouldn't have been considered that bad.
How long until full completion so far? I suppose the date is "never".
I prefer amateur but recognizable models than the UE5 freaks that look gross. I bet that the future Star Fox movie/s WILL NOT use these models as they are ugly enough to scare off children.
Krystal in Event Horizon is actually voiced by the same actress that had the role in the official games.
The dev guessed five years. It will probably take longer but he already is very close to the the halfway point of finishing up all the missions.
