Although I am sad because I loved Star Wars as a kid I still can't forgive him for fucking them all up with the Special Edition shit. I hope he goes to neither heaven nor hell but purgatory instead. Rip

Sleep well, Stan, you've left a hell of a legacy.

Funny thing is is when a celebrity dies you'll get some nobody with 8 followers flinging shit at them for being problematic and such, but knowing the comics industry the shit-flingers will probably be people working for Marvel right now.

F. He will be remembered greatly for all the works he made and even for some cameos he had.

May he rest in peace. I'm sad i'll go check twitter

I'm no longer sad guys, madoninternet.png
People like this can have their soapboxes shoved up their ass. All they really do isn't speaking some sort of "truth", it's just grave pissing and fishing for likes and attention.

What a fucking homophobic piece of shit. That creator of the X-Men during the Civil Rights movement, a representation of those who were marginialised during the sixties, and aided in the understanding of tolerance towards others and what they were going through during that time through the X-Men and gave those who felt different characters that they could finally relate to. Yeah. What a homophobic racist.
Truly Stan Lee was some evil racist. The Twitter people surely aren't lying for any attention and likes.

That honestly baffles me. If they held the belief that Stan was really a homophobic, sexist, et cetera et cetera guy, why haven't they spoken up about this until after he passed? I can understand that since Stan Lee is so well-regarded that any kind of vitrol against him will result in backlash, but... why now? If people are passionate about the guy, let them pay their respects. Wait awhile instead of being so disrespectful as to immediately call him out after he's become a fresh corpse.
Because they think that either Stan won't defend himself while he's dead or they just want attention.

Gravedancing is great because the person can't defend themselves.
It is until they realize they also painted a target that allows Stan's fans and the like to come in and tell these spergs to shut up.

Edit: There's at least one twitter that tries to bring up something to say how Stan is terrible.
Thanks @Someone in a Tree for saying the abuse was that of handlers. That makes Stan's final years were rough due to said handlers being more of feels for one that doesn't keep up.
abuse in last years.png

Then again, one wonders what abuse he means since he only shares an article that says Stan Lee died. At least this Twitter sperg manages to not fall into a moment of being a sperg like the others that are saying how Stan's terrible.

Stan was a legend and the cool grandpa of the comics community, he will be greatly missed. May he continue to bang Jack Kirby's wife in heaven.

Man, this puts a damper on the entire rest of the year for me. Knew he probably didn't have long left considering his age, but it's still a damn shame that we've lost him. Excelsior, Stan.

People love ragging on the person after they're dead, they clearly get some sort perverse tingle from trying to soil someone's legacy while they're still fresh in the grave. And what better target to bite then one that can't bite back, and that everyone's currently looking towards?

NGL, I was kinda expecting this for a while ago. It was still a shock to hear it.

E for Excelsior and RIP. Thanks for everything. :semperfidelis:

FWIW he seemed pretty active until the end or close to it. Better he lived a normal life up until he went than be slowly destroyed by disease. Having had relatives die both ways I know which one I prefer.

I mean to be honest it IS pretty confusing to determine who's more progressive here. I mean we got someone who created the X-Men, an allegory for civil rights and minorities during that time, and helped in terms of understanding with his relatable, realistic, human characters and his messages of tolerance, influencing the younger generation. A guy who created a bunch of black and Asian superheroes as well as the first gay superhero in a time when those types of characters were extremely rare and pretty much frowned upon with one of his characters, The Black Panther being pretty much the poster child for black pride and black superheroes. A person's who initial influence is the reason why comic books are so diverse these days. A person who used his influence to speak out against bigotry and hatred but also translate it positively into influential messages in his comic books. Then we got these white women yelling about dead dudes on twitter and spilling "tea."

Fuck, Stan Lee didn't do shit for minority groups. It's these chicks on twitter that REALLY make the difference to the world. They're totally the progressive ones. Stan doesn't know the struggle.

He will most certainly be missed. Dude was a legend in the world of comic books and was a trailblazer for his medium.

May he rest in peace.

And what are the racism / whateverism accusations? Or is that just the millennial way of saying "I don't like this person"? Again, those words are going to lose meaning fast.

During the height of the Me Too movement someone accused him of sexual harassment and it turned out to not be true. As for racism IDK he's white or something.
