Neat fact when basket ball first started, it was mostly a jewish sport. Wonder if they would have disliked it then with less "thugs".

Now if they pointed out the NBA is damn near a contact sport and that isn't cool or how the NCAA is a huge profit factor and students often get away with murder because they have an abilty to throw a ball in a hoop not because they are working on curing cancer you'd have a point. Then again it wouldn't be a riot if they had any sense behind their rantings.

For a bunch of guys who call other people "neanderthals," they sure don't seem like the sharpest tools in the shed. I mean, I guess I can give that one guy credit for knowing what was meant by "selfish gene," but when you get down to 'nerds r gay' I think you've given up any pretension of intellectual superiority.

That said, I'm no fan of sports either. Didn't much care for them in high school, and today they seem to cause tons of problems: the assaults, beatings, and general shenanigans professional athletes commit, the humungous amount of money universities and other ostensibly academic institutions spend on coaches, stadiums, and other non-educational stuff, and so on, and so forth. But sports in general? Humans have been playing those ever since we figured out how to make balls and kick them around. To say that the whole endeavor (rather than its most extravagant excesses) should be done away with is just stupid, IMO.

As a fan and player of sports I have no issues with people pointing out the flaws or admitting there are problems with in it. I also don't take anyone not liking them personally. That's the other thing these guys do, it's about them. Me and buddy play catch it's to insult them. No it's because we like throwing the ball around. It's not to oppress you with our jockness.

Is that the angle they're taking? I mean isn't being so adament against sports pretty nerdy? At least under the high school lens these guys are looking at it under.

We really already have a bunch of people in college that don't belong there I'm not sure getting more people to go is really something I care about. Working out at the gym helped me keep my concentration and kept me from boozing really hard though, college sports are fine but having programs that will require a student to prioritize over academics is pointless even if I don't mind watching a game.

Is it really sports they hate? Or is it a case of envy? Hating the fact that someone who isn't into stereotypical "smart people" stuff can surpass said smart people in the category of lifetime earnings? or societal praise?

I mean, if we could create some alternate universe where academic and geeky pursuits received the same adulation as modern collegiate athletics, where universities competed against each other for the smartest nerds, built million-dollar venues for them to show off their smarts in, held victory parades for the debate team, provided them with scholarships, cushy housing, turned a blind eye to their shenanigans, while meanwhile, kids who got into college on athletics would be looked down upon and pitied as just not having the ability to be naturally popular..... if we did that, would these intellectuals STILL have a problem with "neanderthal" sports?

Somehow, I doubt it.

Somehow, I doubt it.

These people would have a problem with the debate team or D&D team because they aren't smart they just claim to be smart in order to cope with being failures

They hate themselves. And they're still buttmad about the dudes who played football in high school and banged cheerleaders. Even though for half those guys, that was the peak of their lives and they're now disappointed shoe salesmen with two and a half kids on meth.

I think that things should get better after highschool simply because if you are smart about life decisions then your life should constantly improve over time. That's not about highschool being bad but rather a return on an investment.

These guys remind me of people who essentially said they hated the sports players in high school, even when the guys on the teams might not have even been so bad. They're just angry that their egos are being neglected and the egos of "subhumans" are being inflated. Functionally, these people are not quite the benign opposers to schoolyard bullying they claim they are.

While it is true that too much focus is placed on sports in school environments, as I read on the said forum, one of those guys basically turned upon his friend since grade school and acted basically like a dick to him simply because the said friend joined the football team. Which in that poster's mind meant he would apparently automatically become a bully.

Some of their views are well past exceptional individual; they're frankly "magical" views, of instant, sudden personality shifts and character archetypes being played out with no individuality.

Not all jocks are typical idiots who just fuck cheerleaders. Based off of my own personal experiences, many of them are actually intelligent and are in honors or advance placement classes.

Which explains why many of them are in their early 30's. I like some sports like Football, and maybe that occasional Hockey game, but I like WH40K, Halo, Mass Effect, Doom, and other nerdy stuff, yet I like IRL stuff like Football.

Not to sound like some Nostradamus, all of these people ICan'tGetLaidAndThereForeNeedToGeneralizeWomynAndThoseMeanJocks.org sound like An Hero High Score Earners in training. Or some plan by Nazi Germany as a big fuck you to the Allied Powers during the final stages of WW2.

They were the nerds who got picked on in school by the jocks, who got constantly rejected by the cheerleaders, and they never got over it, so they make websites like this to chimp out with like minded people.
