On the positive side, asides of CSA, I can understand why those titles are being published, which was rarely the case back in the "good days". Now, I don't mean that I like creative teams attached or their plans for those characters, but I get why Suicide Squad with Peacemaker front and centre is being published. I get why we get another attempt to revitalize Titans franchise (instead of doing multiple Titans books per month) and so on.
wdym we're not getting The Justice League of NAMBLA you bigot.

but seriously, I think the writers that are shit are going to get weeded out eventually. Most of the usual suspects can't handle criticism from ya boi zack or other youtubers that criticize them.

Are their actually any good comic book youtubers to follow that actually focus on the release quality of physical editions and discussion of the comics themselves? Don't care about investing or #comicsgate drama channels, just looking for some chill.

Mainstream are pussies and CG drama channels have mostly moved on from criticizing stuff.

Keyfabe for example, pretends that comics stopped publishing in the 90s more or less.

Portraying a black man as uncontrollably, mindlessly violent and constantly chimping out? Problematic!
Based on what Marvel has done with ReeeReee, Shuri, and Moon Girl, they'll turn that black reporter chick into Black Hulk, then claim she's better and smarter than all the other Hulks despite being way younger and less experienced than other Hulks.

that could happen but I think she's just going to die.

Comics, by Perch - He generally does fair takes and interviews, along with some analysis videos of comics and sales numbers. Ya boi Zack recently name-dropped and gave him a boost in subs and views since he and a few others check out Perch's videos.
Despite being the industry I want to get in, I don't follow a lot of comics stuff as manga is more my speed. Wish I could help you more.

The Back Issues series of videos on this channel have a few people going through arcs, with a degree of serious discussion and a lot of jokes: https://www.youtube.com/user/TVLittleHouse
Might not be exactly what you're looking for but a lot of the videos are quite funny (maybe skip the ones with the chick hosting - they're not as good).

I had to make the hardest decision on which comic book series to purchase for the end of the year:

Buy Best of Archie Comics #1-4 or buy all six book series of Preacher by Garth Ennis

Thought about getting Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex instead

I'd be almost curious as to what makes an Archie comic "Best Of"-worthy. They all run together in my mind.

If you're looking into Archie books, they released a prestige edition of The Man From RIVERDALE stories last year which is stupid, wholesome fun.

for the Best of Versions for Archie, these ones actually have the original comics that were black and white, along with the colored in versions. the first and third ones, I read, were pretty good.

Am I the only person who doesn't really like Ennis' work?

Archie actually has some nifty stuff. Adam Fucking Hughes wrote and drew a great three issue series of Betty versus Veronica back in 2017

Speaking of Treat yourself buys, I finished JLI and am getting the Marvel by Byrne series. Hope they do a Steranko and Perez collection.

Ennis is a guy who needs a leash. When he has someone who will tell him "no" from time to time, you get Hitman, which is still one of my favorite DC books all time. When nobody can tell him "no," you get the worst excesses of Crossed or Preacher or the Boys. Ironically I think he would have put out better stuff if he'd gotten less famous.
