Not playing, but I've watched a complete play through of the single player game. It was decent, although worse than the first one, IMO. The combat and enemies were quite monotonous, and the story and characterisation/voice acting were mid tier.

The combat is kind of clunky, it feels like it wants to be detailed like a Dark Souls subsidiary but they did a shit job of it. The ammo pool is ridiculously small and the enemies are all bullet sponges, not a winning combo.

I was looking forward to the operations mode and the whole leveling up thing but that's highly dependent on multiplayer. If you have people to play with and can all agree on what classes you are working on then it's probably fine, but I've yet to play a pickup match where I was able to play the class I wanted to.

I only made it through part of the first mission in the campaign, story was pretty boring lol

I played some of it on a friend's account and wasn't wowed. No particularly nuanced insights. It felt like Saber took a leaf from the Arrowhead playbook and made everything weak and not very fun to use, though Arrowhead did go back on a lot of that muh heckin pve balance nonsense. I can't help but feel like the game was designed for tourists and people unfamiliar with the setting but that might just be the meh quality of the writing and design showing through. Real talk, I'd do unspeakable things for someone to take another crack at something resembling that Space Hulk: Deathwing game.

I'm playing it, I have a lot of fun, but I also realize that it's kind of a mid to upper mid game with a lot to collect and progress through.
If I had to make a big complaint, the Tyranids are a great fleshed out enemy and fit into the game system very well. Fighting them isn't a chore. The chaos faction on the other hand feels almost pulled from a different game. As if they went into a cover shooter with a zero frame dodge and put them into SM2 which is functionally more of a paced combat/parry/dodge kind of game.
I think eventually the devs will get around it and Chaos won't be a chore, it's sad because they have fun missions.

Other than being a little disappointed with the length of the campaign, I enjoyed the game. Though I do like how the operations let you play the part of the other squads tackling other objectives in support of Titus’ squad from the campaign missions. It definitely has a higher level of polish than the first game which looked and felt like a budget title to me, at least in terms of level and enemy design.

I would download it for operations, but you can't play it offline.
You can change the settings from the game mode selection console by the gunship so that you're in a private lobby, that lets you play with AI bots in the 2nd and 3rd slots. It's basically solo mode.

It isn't the best game ever, but with the current state of gaming, it is better than most.

In the land of the grots, the runty ork is boss.

My 3 cents about multiplayer:

The grind is Real: PvP and Co-op have separate weapon and class lv caps, the only thing that is available in both modes are cosmetics (which are tied to the amount of mission you have played).

PvP is (expectedly) unbalanced - matchmatching tend to create high vs low lv teams constantly and if there is more then one 24 lv player on the opposite team, there is a good chance it's a loss - weapons and kits are tied to your level and melta weapons start at 14-16. Get ready to play alot with forward rushing niggercattle, that will get moved down by melta devastators for 10 min straight, i would recommend starting with Recon class, get accustomed to the maps and start popping heads from multiple vantage points (especially now, when the bolt weapons got a buff). Up to lv 10 you will usually need 3 games per level, playing reasonable well.

Co-op is also very grindy but i would NOT recommend starting a brand new class, with 0 weapon lv on Substantial difficulty (the 3rd one) and up, because, even after the difficulty nerf, AI director can still spawn a lot of enemies in quick succesion, along with special enemies like Lictors, Carnifexes, Neurothropes and Hellbrutes and after 60 h in Co-op, i can assure you that not even a 2 max lv spaaace mehreeeeens will be able to kill everything quickly enough and not get overwhelmed (and this doubles if you will get lags that will screw up your parry/dodge rolls).
Also, you get your weapon exp from killing things, so if you start on Substantial +, your dmg will be too low to reliably kill things in great quantities (or at all), which will hamper you progress.
Grind also requires you to spend additional time searching the map for Geneseed, an item that gives you flat 350 exp extra if the person carrying it won't get downed during the mission and Servo skulls, which provides you with armory tokens, with which you unlock the next weapon tier or bypass the weapon exp grind for the weapon skill point.
Servo skulls are tied to the mission difficulty, so, whether you want it or not, you will need to play on higher difficulties, in order to unlock better weapon tiers.
Both objects spawn at specific points, so you will usually beeline from point to point, killing shit as you go.
Terminus level enemy, that can spawn during the mission, also gives you the armory token.

There is cross-play, randos are a very mixed bag, so i would recommend playing this with fwends.

Overall, I had fun, best power fantasy roleplay on the market, 10/10 will rip more nids heads.

Which one of you faggots want to go on a crusade?

The story is a down grade from the first one. They neutered Titus' character from the first to be a generic ultra smurf. I enjoy the game play and it has been a while I played a game that hits that genre itch.

A solid 7/10. Way better than the slop they make now, but could be better.

I've really enjoyed it.

Campaign was a good challenge on veteran and had a few absolutely fucking CHAD momengs and operations have been fun for me. I'm pretty chill about what class I play in any game so I'm happy to work around and help other players if they're determined on levelling up a certain class.

I'm not a huge gamer nowadays because i have a family but this one really just clicked for me and I do a fair bit of carrying even. Haven't tried the PvP cos I'm pretty sure I'd just get wasted by people obsessed with the meta.
