I've been trying to force Magician. I built essentially red deck wins. I'm grabbing the pieces for the chaos wish version, but still don't have a ring and that's the biggest piece needed.
I've been trading in magic cards and just buying boxes. I bought to AL and they were almost card for card on the elites and uniques. So yeah probably gonna buy a Ring soon.
Magician seems almost meme-worthy, but there might actually be something there when wanting a slower value game. A 'burn' strategy seems like it'll get the ol' MTG flood games this way, but I would be interested to see what it brings to the table. Having a really low Atlas count in the only deck could leave some interesting odds for 5-spell openers.
So far, I can't recommend Animist. I thought the flexibility of spells or minions would be stronger, and if we see more Spirit tribal support it may improve, but the minions are just too generic and average to do much. I find myself wanting to leave Poison Nova in hand with an empty board just in case instead of playing a 5cost 5power beater.
@Wellsmaxing I saw Searing Truth, if you were in Fire it seems like a reasonable draw spell with Magician diluting the deck with Atlas cards. What's the goal with Chaoswish? I assume there's an infinite loop, but I'm new enough to the game I can't call it.
@Love Machine a buddy was working on a tall water deck as well but using Waveshaper. He's finding the best leads didn't use ramp, but just control the board with Maelstrom / Guile Sirens pulling minions and trading value, or using Frogs and getting a really early Gnarled Wendigo.
I was fidgeting with Animist, but finally moved to Geomancer because I like Earth (and in MTG I liked artifact ramp decks or Green), and just want to cast / spam Craterize. I was considering Archimago to get Craterize flashback, but haven't pulled one yet. We cracked a set of starter decks + a box of each set. For playing, we've been flipping back and fourth between constructed with what we opened, and sealed every few weeks. Managed to get a PhilStone and an Ether Core, but no beta cores, omphaloses, or archangels. Most $$$ card we got was a foil Interrogator.

Yeah the Chaos Wish is just to go infinite, the deck is a total glass cannon. You need to be close enough and have the Ring and Mechanism out, Cast Wish choose wish, ring pings, and repeat to death's door. Your last wish is for Courtesan Thaïs and then have your opponent attack into you.
I built a fire Magician first and Searing Truth was great.
