The thought of Gran Turismo 7 being ported to PC, makes me wonder if that will make Turn 10 worried about potential competition for the new Forza Motorsport game, although I'm not sure how much of the Forza players play on PC, compared to on the XBox.
I hope Dan Greenawalt shows something at Gamescom because it has been 4 years since the last game of the main series.

“We got our hands on some internal documents, and boy, this game is gonna be straight ass,” said Jim Ryan, CEO and President of Sony. “There’s nothing there that you won’t find on the PlayStation 5, between Battlefield and Call of Duty. It’s weird, they have all these notes like ‘Make Master Chief cry a lot,’ and ‘All the vehicles should go really slow.’ That’s what I’ve heard, at least. Frankly, they’re taking this franchise in a direction almost nobody is going to enjoy, least of all longtime fans.”

And how would HE know? Is the game out yet? But hey, buy our third person cinematic experience complete with exposition dumps!

It's satire, besides everyone knows that if Halo Infinite was good they would have called it Halo 2 Infinite.

Sony should have went with a proprietary SSD expansion solution. The average sony console user is to fucking stupid to install the m.2 SSD.
when they brick their console, what do you think is more likely, switching systems or buying a new ps5?

Meh. It won’t mean much for the consoomers that will buy their consoles anyway if they haven’t already.

“We don’t need day and date support. We’ll wait for a port.”

Lies and copium. Games like FF7 Remake and Monster Hunter Rise were promised to be only timed exclusive games for console, so why have I seen countless people with “gaming” PCs playing these games on console?

FOMO worked for Mario 3D All Stars…
I figure the kind of people enthusiastic enough to own both gaming PCs and consoles are the most likely people to discuss them online. Plus, you could get a used PS4 for under $120 with a controller before the pandemic, so it wasn’t exactly breaking the bank if you shopped smart.

But that’s not accounting for consoomers, of course. Consoomers must have one of everything.

The average console gamer won’t buy additional storage because they don’t care. I don’t know why hardcore consoomers want to hoard games instead of deleting the stuff they’re not playing.

But if I was a digital hoarder, then I’d gladly take third party drives with competitive pricing in the long run. It’s also nice that they’ll match the speed of the internal SSD, because the proprietary cards for Xbox are slower than the respective console.

It’s nuts how Microsoft gimped their own game development for their hardware. The Series S is bad enough.

What if you loaded your drive with countless DLC, you can't just delete that, it's shit that you bought for being a consumer.
I'm thinking on bandaiNamco terms, where they sell you the shell of a game and then bullshit you the remainder through season pass, dlc, cosmetics, etc.

The kind of people with the mentality to become hardcore consoomers are the kind of people who are afraid they’ll get the urge to play some random game NOW NOW NOW and can’t handle waiting for their game to install and download all its updates

I personally believe that the PlayStation 3 had lots of potential to be successful off the gate. Free online, raw performance, backwards compatibility, goodwill from the PS2. Hell, I wanted a PS3 based on my prior experience with PS2. Games that looked and played better than before.

That potential was offset by its high price point, anemic infrastructure, subpar online ecosystem and departure from "gamey" experiences. With all its highs and lows, I consider the PlayStation 3 to be a fascinating console, even today. I am a fan of the original design despite its bulkiness.

Sony themselves held back the PS3 with its ambition and overconfidence of past laurels. I think they still ARE holding themselves back.

The biggest issue with Sony is that they think they are the luxury gaming option, with the ‘blockbuster’ AAA experience unlike any other. They want to be seen as the premium brand, but also want to have total market dominance as well. It’s stupid and autistic, because the premium gaming experience is on PC, with none of the drawbacks that the consoles offer.

Yeah except there are no real PC Exclusive developers that can reach the high watermark unless your idea of a good time is low budget autism simulators. Blizzard is dead and Valve is focused on making it's switch clone.

There's not enough stuff from the software end that makes people switch over. PC exclusives don't match up with what's on consoles.

Nigga what, there are ton of PC exclusive games out there, even timed ones. Fuck man, there are even genres for the most part that are limited to the PC platform due to the flexibility of the platform, and let's not even get to the VR games that are being developed first for PC and are then ported over to Console/Oculus. Even then, PC ports can brute force there way to being the plain better experience on PC over time due to the modding scene that is on the platform.

Sony games up until 2013 debatably offer exclusives that were unique to the platform, such as SotC & ICO and Demon Souls. But now? Only Third Person action games that are sometimes open world and have stealth elements. Fuck, even Microsoft is going to have the better gaming experience on consoles due to the variety of games it's going to offer in the coming years. I used to meme on Microsoft for only having 3 game genres they fall back on, but now they have at least 5 and Sony only has 2: Third Person Games and Racing, and that's pathetic.

SOTC, Ico, and Demon's Souls are all third person action games.
