She is famous and queer. Apart from that, her only noteworthy characteristic is her tendency to betray for no reason other than whims. Not very easy to write her in a story as a supporter.

She's just an important character to both sides of the mutant conflict and has a personal connection with a lot of other important characters, I get why she's around at least in concept.
Her being a carpet-muncher though? Afaik it was never important to the character and the only time it was "important" in the comics was when they revealed she transformed into a man and fucked Nightcrawlers mother and is technically his father, which was such a retarded plotpoint that Marvel had to tardwrangle the guy who came up with it for like 20 years before eventually caving and making it canon in the 2000s.

She was shown many times to be an old friend of Logan. In the comics, they met as they were about to be executed in the Wild West and the "Wolverine and the X-men" show, they used to be close.

She's a major X-Men villain and one who's identity is particularly defined on the basis of being gay coded if not bisexual coded until the 00s, when Marvel finally allowed her to be presented as gay. However, media interpretations tend to fall on the straight side of things with her having male love interests and X-Men Evolution being the only show to imply her being gay. Which colors her interpretation to most, especially since the 00s era X-Men movies had her nude.
Though not tied to Wolverine properly, Mystique is at her core a spy/assassination/terrorist mastermind/weapons dealer who fights via hand to hand combat plus knives/guns, making her something of an ideal video game enemy for Wolverine.

The people in charge of these projects don't want to be making games. They want to make movies and TV shows, and then the devs and artists are just retarded on top of everything else.

If they actually did fuck up, its probably a single UV map for a LARGE portion of the room, & each part of the room uses a separate part of the same texture. Its easy to mix up UVs on a large texture.
Kotaku responded with an article so quick (2 hours) you'd think they found a swastika or sonnenrad instead.
That said, During their earnings call in May this year, they are using AI for some things already, whose to say they didn't use it for some assets in this game now too?

Well she used to be one of the X-men's most prolific villains, but now she's being treated as a misunderstood tragic villain and they made her gay and in a loving relationship with Destiny to sell the narrative that she's not that evil.
