Why does it matter to him that a script kiddie shitting out code through AI did this? Would he be less butthurt if some fellow intellectual researcher methodically figured out the exploit and sold it to Sony without LLM assistance? Or after a reread it turns out the person that told him about the exploit, not the AI guy, turned it over for a bounty when he saw someone else figuring it out with the help of AI? Then it's literal faggot shit, lol.
nnnnnope, if it was someone more experienced there would just be a gay ego slapfight kind of similar to warez groups of old.
seeing this gay slapfight because of a clanka doesn't make me think of them that bad, sure we got awful pc part prices because of them but the artistes overall and programmers throwing a bitchfit because of it is making the pain worth it.
Is there any point at all for hacking the PS5 anyway? Is there really even anything worth getting on it that cant be found elsewhere?
uhhh, astro bot?

From what I underdtand, it seems the hacking community was already set to publicly release the exploit and jailbreak method within the next two months. Within the next week, if rumors were to be believed. However, @theflow0 wanted the exploit to be released AFTER Grand Theft Auto 6's release to let people buy the game, play it, and also enjoy Linux perpetually.

If the exploit is released too soon, Sony could patch the exploit on latest firmwares and then people would have to stop updating and wait until another exploit is found before they could play GTA6 or use Linux on PS5. If the exploit is released after the GTA6 release, people could play GTA6 and still enjoy Linux so long as they stopped updating.

So because Jordy (@couldbeautism) squealed the exploit to Sony via Hackerone for the cash bounty, now the hacking community is potentially locked out of playing Grand Theft Auto 6, using their PS5s as a desktop computer running Linux, and maybe even game piracy. Knowing there would be backlash, Jordy is claiming the money is going towards their allegedly terminally ill mother and stated there was "someone else" who had already found the exploit using ai, and that he just wanted to beat them to the Hackerone submission.

And lo and behold, Sony just released firmware update 26.06-14.00.00.

Yeah I kinda figured the AI thing was just someone else's excuse after rereading the post. Funny how he thinks pirates or his fellow code sissies are gonna give a rat's ass about any justification he could come up with.

Playstation really doesnt have ANY games, or really anything at all
If the exploit had been released after Grand Theft Auto 6, we would have had a cheap and highly accessible desktop machine also capable of playing a highly-desired video game.

Now, especially with Gezine and TheFlow0 out of the picture, nobody really knows who can hack the Playstation. Additionally, with SciresM also out of the Nintendo hacking community, shit is looking grim. As more people cave to Hackerone bounties and programmers lazily rely on artificial intelligence, the days of jailbreaking video game consoles could be coming to an end.

Makes him less important so off he flounces.

Nguyens are shit.

Sony ALWAYS uses the GTA games to patch exploits. Always have, always will. "You guys, just don't mention the exploit until after GTA 6 okay?" is some 1990's level faggotry.

It's terring him apart, the AI spew, but deep inside his heart he's still a gook.

A part of me says that this is lining up with how many of these companies simply do not understand what their customers want anymore and are pricing out most of their audience.
Even if we cant jailbreak the new things, its nearly at the point where theres no reason to do so. Cheap computers can run all the stuff that has been ripped and put onto the internet and the newer consoles and games are dogwater

I mean Sony getting a year of GTA before everyone else is also not a new development.

I believe they haven't even announced a PC date and people are just assuming late 2027.

Apparently the Little Big Planet devs are tasked with creating a first party Animal Crossing clone for 2027.
There is no brakes on the money wasting train for this fucking company. Babygames on the console mostly owned by men who want to play shooty action slash/sports games? and the men who want babygames would have a much better time on Nintendo? Great idea, surely it won't end with another huge loss and dev shutdown. Astrobot was at least a platformer, I do not see this doing well at all.
And there goes another beloved studio, just have to start that clock the moment the game comes out before the layoffs/closure.

Isn't Gezine focused more on the Switch 2, albeit in a seemingly more "for himself" way if his vaugeposting is all we have to go on?, I doubt there isn't much stopping him from going back into the PS5 hacking scene when he's done with the Switch 2.

This is so tryhard edgy it crosses the line into comedic. I bet Sam Raimi could adapt this plot into a great movie, but that would be fun so Sony will never allow it.

Why do they hate the Laufey actress so much. The rest look rough but she looks like one of the DLSS 5 memes currently doing the rounds.
Man, women are gonna buy so many PS5s now!

@࿕࿕࿕ , @moocow , @Sheogorath someone asked me to relay that you "either need to kiss and get it over with or take [your] lover's spat to the Thunderdome". Please take whichever route which will improve the quality of the thread. Thanks.
Wow, so just two quick posts of snark from me is all it takes to get their panties in a bunch now?

Impressive. Shit, maybe I should tell people to drive less when they bitch about gas prices again to really get a fun one rolling :story:

Relax dog, I've got him on ignore now.

Oh no, now nobody will ever find any other exploit ever in any system ever produced now or in the future because all known exploits are solved and there could never possibly ever be a new one ever oh dear god no!

Do "people" who argue like this work at Microsoft or Sony or something? Because those two companies in particular are fucking famous for shipping "Swiss cheese with a door"-caliber "security" in their software and gear.

What a bunch of faggots. They Snitch the secret out to sony for cash because some guy using an LLM finds it a few hours later that could possibly use it to help people keep what they own?
Fuckin losers. Another W for AI cause it'll figure out a way around it while these fags get upset and need their egos praised constantly..

Playstation homebrew developer Andy Nguyen (@theflow0) has announced his removal from the Playstation hacking scene due to the reveal of a major hypervisor exploit by another individual @couldbeautism.
RIP, reminds me of how someone snitched about the Switch hardware exploit and ended up pocketing the bounty for it. That one arguably had greater security risks since it effected every NVIDA Tegra chip, but this is just straight greed.

there is no point in hacking the ps5 because the games are fucking massive and they are all shit.
now if someone could tellme how to hack the ps4 that would be helpful
Is there any point at all for hacking the PS5 anyway? Is there really even anything worth getting on it that cant be found elsewhere?
Astro Bot

The main reason people were waiting for this exploit was because you could run Ubuntu Linux on the system while still getting pretty good access to the PS5's fancy GPU and CPU, meaning performance would be on par to some higher mid-tier gaming PCs. Install SteamOS on top of that and you basically have you're own Steam Machine. Back in March the same homebrew dev was posting videos of GTA V running on his PS5 Linux port at 60 FPS with ray tracing. Doesn't make much sense if you already own a nice gaming PC, but for people who don't this would have been a huge advantage to owning a PS5 and the only way for the console to have more games.

That makes a lot more sense why people would be mad about this.
