Apparently controversial opinion around here but I loved Death Stranding 2. It's one of the few games I wish I could erase my memory of playing to do it blind all over again.

Make development tools for PS5 dirt cheap / free and open a Sony Store that releases indie games. Pick the best of these indie developers and help them grow into a studio. Use your remaining funds to revive E3 and gaming culture. Make your entire political agenda "making some fucking money".

I see the walking simulator criticisms all over the place. DS2 was very obviously Kojima trying out some new stuff for his Metal Gear successor since it highly expanded on CQC (heh), gunplay, and stealth.

Leaving Killzone out of the picture since the early PS4 lifecycle was a huge mistake, all for the sake of the unlikeable peach-fuzzed dyke Herman just can't seem to drop.

didn't Kojima build the legacy of the sony back catalogue pre last of us, aside from god of war, with metal gear solid? After all, when is the last time you heard about jax and daxter? As for spyro, crash, and whatever have you- those were things you got sold alongside the console- not console sellers. Especially into the late ps2 era.

Not really, his games have a surprisingly small budget. DS2 is unknown but DS1 was made for about a hundred milion, (for comparison that years call of duty was made for 450 milion, TLOU 2 for about 220 milion).
He doesn't make evergreen live service money but his games do sell well enough to make back their budget and then some. All Sony had to do was let him do his thing and he would bring in money. My guess is that they wanted PHYSINT to have a live service component and kojima refused.

all mentions of killzone are always funny, not to mention that one of the articles defeat itself by saying "a decade later", which begs the question of literally who unc game.
they all draw from TLoU2, which uses the shoulder camera thing from RE4, i still don't know why devs haven't implemented a change view side for this type of camera though, indie studio budget i guess...
