Your weekly reminder that emulation is both superior, and free. For example, all those PS1 classics that they are trying to charge you for - you could already be playing them right now. Just a few mouse clicks, bam, you're playing Ratchet and Clank... Work smarter not harder.
Always. You can remaster with emulation settings and patches.

Slightly disagree because my autistic ass HAS to play everything on the original system. My favorite option is to have the OG console but jailbreak it, rather than pay some asshole on ebay for OG PS1 and 2 discs.

This is probably the first time a lot of Marvel comic fans are seeing this game so their natural reactions upon seeing her dark hair, purple/violet color coded outfit/powers while deploying an energy katana is going to be:

- "Wait, is this Psylocke? WTF did they do to her?!"

Only for Insomniac to reply with a shit-eating-grin: "OMG you stupid CHUDS! It is Lady Deathstrike, isn't it ObViOuS!?!?

No, it not obvious and it shows yet another reason why the art direction of this game sucks.

For one; Lady Deathstrike's looks like this:
I don't care that Deathstrike isn't a super model, I just want her to actually look like the character. So far this lady looks like Psylocke and Deathstrike fused together and then aged 40 years.

Wolverine shoots beams now?
They're emotion beams. When he's sad (from being near women, trauma hotspots and violence) he starts to fill up the emotion meter, and then he gets the beam attack. But there's more! Hitting enough enemies with the blue sadness beams makes him angry, filling up the rage meter which turns the beams red (+25% crit chance) and makes him growl more.

cult mentality and desire to be the status quo.
I guess it just doesn't make sense to me because superheroes have always been idealized power fantasies for fat male nerds to aspire to, even though they're completely unrealistic, but ugly fat women want characters that look even worse than themselves so they can feel better by comparison?

As business plans go it seems short-sighted at best.
I don't care that Deathstrike isn't a super model, I just want her to actually look like the character.
I don't even care if she looks like the character, I just want her to not look like total shit.

The Shinobi PS2 game completely replaced/redesigned the main character and nobody complained because he looks cool as fuck.

I love Insomniac because it's frankly fascinating to watch how long they can purposefully run their company in the ground without repercussions.
Truly snoys are the absolute bottom of the barrel of goycattle if they continue funding this.

This is why I'm convinced this was originally a different game before being reworked like a canceled Infamous spinoff or something.

There is more gameplay footage of him doing parkour and shooting laser beams than there is of him using his claws, you know, the thing the character is most famous and well known for?

He doesn't even move like Wolverine. It's like they just reused the mocap and animation riggings from whoever the character was originally.

Sonygroes, combined with Western comic cattle are eating up the slop with every retarded take they can muster on the planet, BTW.

Honestly? I'm the foremost shill for Rule of Cool > Literally all & everything else, so my problem isn't even the fact that he has a new move, as much as the fact that it doesn't even look cool. Not that I'm surprised, Venom was tanking fire in Spider-Man 2.

At least when other characters used to get new abilities, they looked awesome enough you wished for them to do it more often outside of those games.
Mind you, this is still in the realm of possibility for Spider-Man, while whatever Razor Wind bullshit Wolverine does is straight-up pulled out of his ass. Ironically, there's actual retarded shit in Insomniac games that doesn't makes sense for Peter (looking at you external webline gadget).

You just know that if someone at Insomniac even had a mere passing thought in their firing of a neuron, or transmission of a syanpse, they will literally turn their entire studio into Jonestown as an act of apologetic prostation.

Also, this may just be me, but it kinda reminds me of Drive move from Devil May Cry 3.
Which, personally, I find even more retarded because Wolverine's entire thing is CQC (primarily stabbing).
He has god-tier pain tolerance generally. They dumbing him down & nerfing him for "realism" sake like they did with Spider-Man.

I'm sticking with my original theory that Insomniac just took the codebase for Spider-Man and changed the model to Wolverine. It's been too long since I played the first game but I bet you anything Spidey has a move where he dodges then shoots a web ball.

I feel like DMC (3 especially) and og God of War set the gold example for character action movesets the same way Doom and Quake set the standard for weapon archetypes in most FPS games to follow. Drive is a niche move and is more useful for styling on shit than raw damage in most cases. It makes sense to have a move that closes a pause in combat and keeps up combos, but it's just a goofy choice for Wolverine.

One of the biggest problems with the move, apart from it being lame & gay itself for Wolverine, is that it looks extremely jarring at first due to aesthetical dissonance. Mind you, it wouldn't have been nearly as jarring if the game had any shred of art direction or stylization instead of being more of the same homogenous "cinematic" graphicslop.

Hell, just look at other Wolverine games. They had cool moves & something resembling an art style & aesthetic to make it look good.

In a better world, someone could've made a Wolverine game with MadWorld like comic aesthetic.

The funniest part is, it's not even a "chasing realism" problem on it's own either. Look at Devil May Cry 5 for example, its very realistic in terms of designs & graphics & has tons of stuff like this, regardless if it's true to lore or just part of gameplay, & is a great game.

Despite that, it still has a certain stylistic art style that just leans more into realism but not fully. They also made sure to make the attack effects of that game match the style it presents. As well as having the characters do actions that actually fit their character. The only criticism on it that I could think of is that it does at times suffer from the same problem of it being too greyed out in color due to its lean to realism.

That game came out 7 years ago from now, yet Insomniac managed to vomit out some bullshit like this.

the game looks straight up ugly, and im not talking about graphics. the art direction is shit
Insomniac should have leveraged their decades of experience making the cartoony Ratchet games to lean into a similar style for Spider-Man and Wolverine, like they did with Sunset Overdrive.

Using the Spiderverse skin for Miles that gives his model the movie's animation style is the best part of those otherwise mid games.

i never played their spiderman game so 3 games in into the formula i legit dont see the appeal. the fact that the game look gross, logan is a manlet faggot and the story was already leaked years ago spells disaster

I think one of the reasons the characters look so strange is that in the name of hyperrealism they added  tons of lines, wrinkles, moles, scars ect to characters that are in their 20s or 30s so they end up looking way way older and more uncanny than they actually are especially when they emote or make strong facial expressions.

Lots of games do this and it's such a bad artistic decision.
