Wolverine is like a monument to everything wrong with modern game design. It's genuinely fascinating. View attachment 9532288
Scent trails and nightmare door minigames, just like every other pseudo open world game out right now.
Don’t go far, they somehow made Snitch 2 look good in comparison
Just a year passed, removing the S2 version and literal trash that no one bought, what are the exclusives there?
The ones released:
Donkey Kong Bananza
Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave ( it’s coming in few days, hell someone already got his hands on one )
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment
Kirby Air Riders
Mario Kart World
Pokémon Pokopia
Splatoon Raiders
Star Fox
The confirmed titles coming up:
The Duskbloods for what it’s worth
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (2026 remake )
Not including Fire Emblem (since I didn't include wolverine for ps5) and also not including star fox given it's as exclusive as wind waker is exclusive to the wiiu, there's actually 9 full retail titles actually exclusive to the switch 2 that you can purchase right now. Is every single one worth it, or even good? Fuck no, but this is in comparison to ps5's three, and two of those three are SAARos and Ghost of Trannei.
I believe it's happening but I still don't understand why. I don't care how much you carp about body positivity and buy into HAAS nonsense, nobody can look at this and not be put off by how unappealing it is.
That's true, but it's not sustainable. With AAA budgets skyrocketing while the end product only gets worse there will come a point where even the whales can't afford to pay what Sony needs to charge to have even a hope of breaking even.

"Wolverine! Follow the red stink lines to the nightmare gate so you can do a mind puzzle and unlock one of your trauma abilities! Just in case I've marked the location on your minimap!"
Jesus fucking Christ. I hope this is the game that kills Insomniac.
Ooh think about the LORE. That sweet sweet trauma lore and meaningful retard pussy stares in the cinematics. I can already feel how he's hurting, I can already see the streamers emoting with emotional sadness. Man I'm so glad gaming grew up

I don't believe that. There were already signs that Insomniac was fucked.
Forced stealth sections with Mary Jane and Miles nobody wanted to play, cringe xillenial writing. Weird contrived scenes. The lack/removal of the spider-cop costume. There was also this odd fan backlash against adding the Tobey Maguire suit. Thankfully though there was no one egregious scene that everyone could point to that indicated that the studio had been fully compromised, at least not yet. The game managed to stand up on its own despite some minor faults.
We would only know how bad it truly had gotten when the sequel came out. Ugly faces. A gameplay segment with a deaf black woman. Commentary on current political issues. A lack of police presence in the game. Doubling down on the MJ stealth sections that the game director said he did on purpose. Weird missions where you would ride a bike or go to a theme park. A third act that was just diet Web of Shadows. And of course the Sweet Baby controversy.
Wolverine is probably gonna have all this and more. Since its a linear game there's more chances for them to shove in weird "interactive cutscenes". I'm hoping this game doesn't sell well but we all know it will. This is just what happens when a studio puts out a product that the wrong audience finds. They make it worse on purpose. I don't know why this is a strategy now but it just is.
Ah, so the same logic behind the chuds getting Netflix Cowboy Bebop cancelled despite them simultaneously being a vocal minority whose opinion doesn't matter.
It is normal and even expected for an artist to put their own spin and preferences into a redesign or reinterpretation of a character but there are signature elements to its identity that need to be there regardless of changes. In the case of Psylocke her katanas, the violet/purple energy psionic constructs, outfit and hair color scheme are her calling cards.
Take for example these two designs, both are dramatically different yet it is still recognizable as Psylocke because of the commonality of these signature elements between the two.
Along comes Insomniac and they do this:
This is probably the first time a lot of Marvel comic fans are seeing this game so their natural reactions upon seeing her dark hair, purple/violet color coded outfit/powers while deploying an energy katana is going to be:
- "Wait, is this Psylocke? WTF did they do to her?!"
Only for Insomniac to reply with a shit-eating-grin: "OMG you stupid CHUDS! It is Lady Deathstrike, isn't it ObViOuS!?!?
No, it not obvious and it shows yet another reason why the art direction of this game sucks.
For one; Lady Deathstrike's looks like this:
The color scheme is completely different and what does a cyborg that has Adamantium claws needs a fucking sword for? She used a sword before she got the implants as @Commander X points out but we can see in the game's screenshot that she already has her cybernetic arm pattern, so what's the fucking point?
Did no one at Insomniac's art department stopped for a minute and realized these visual cues would be confusing? No, of course not because we are seeing yet again the "toxic positivity" that is rampant in these studios where none of these bad choices and poor judgement are questioned or challenged because the place is run like an ideological echo chamber.
Imagine the 9th circle of Hell that it is being one of the few straight, secretly conservative white, males still working at this studio and having to walk constantly on eggshells lest they incur the ire of this cackle of harpies.

cult mentality and desire to be the status quo.
i mean it, just look at history and how commies did their shit, it's literally that but with anything else, they want to be the ones at the top eating big and fuck whoever else, there is also some people that prop up dissent and sponsor them because they are deathly afraid of people uniting, no matter what for.

i think they got a marketing retard that still thinks any pr is good pr or someone who is gunning for that position, for them to be this intentionally obtuse can only be excused with that retardation as any motherfucker with a pulse on the modern know-how of gaming culture (BLEH) knows how suicidal for your brand's safety this kind of shit is, if i had even one stake on this i'd be suing them for intentional brand damage or whatever the fuck is similar.
