Since I brought up exclusives, and it's been a bit since I did the rundown, figured I might do one again:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:PlayStation_5-only_games
23 is the listed total, which would already be pitiful for a system about to enter its seventh year, for reference the
FUCKING WIIU has
35 listed, and that's
AFTER removing all the switch ports. But, that's not even the full story.
Of these 23 listed, 8 quite simply are not exclusive, whether it's because they're literally just ports of an existing game with a couple exclusive skins or something or they've already been announced for other platforms.
Of the remaining 15, 7 are unreleased, many without a release YEAR yet, let alone release date (though, wolverine is in a couple weeks, so it's somewhat borderline).
Of the remaining 8, one is a defunct live service that had its servers shut down a couple years ago, but no one even noticed until it was finally delisted from psn earlier this year.
Of the remaining 7, 2 are free pack-in downloads, one being a 2 hour tech demo with next to no replayability, the other being a 45 minute unironic psa about "cyberbullying... LE BAD!".
Of the remaining 5, one is a (likely ai coded) asset flip scam that was only made exclusive to ps5 because of how notoriously terrible their refund policy is.
Of the remaining 4, one is a $30 shovelware god of war spinoff. Broken, bugged, ugly, and genuinely one of the worst metroidvanias ever put out by a major studio, padding out its meager content with horrifically tedious walking back and forth across the map, and once you do finally get fast travel, none of the teleports actually are in convenient locations, so it's a band-aid on an axe wound, not a fix.
Which leaves us with 3 full retail titles actually exclusive to the ps5 that you can purchase right now (sure, if you want, you could make a case for adding wolverine here too, but it's not like that will make this list much better):
SAARos, a jank and jeeted roguelite about being cucked by lesbians for not being enough of an ally.
Ghost of Yotei, literal GoYslop, the thoroughly bastardized follow up to the surprisingly decent Ghost of Tsushima, openly waved in your face that they sold you an incomplete game by calling the paid update "complete edition".
And finally, Astrobot. An aggressively mediocre embodiment of "6/10, it's
fine". Gameplay intended to be easy even for literal 3 year olds, mismatched with references to shit you need to be 30+ to remember, or modern stuff that a 3 year old is much too young to know, wrapped in a package of insane corporate autofellatio, with its mascot already apparently being put out to pasture and getting replaced by "le heccin quirky and relatable wholesome millennial anxiety chungus bear" hello kitty ripoff.
