PlayStation wants to prove in court that you don't own your digital games (archive)

Ahead of an all-digital future for PlayStation, Sony needs to prove in courts that players know they don't own digitally purchased games.

On Jun. 18, four customers filed a class action complaint against Sony on behalf of themselves and anyone else in a similar situation. The complaint states that Sony has not made it obvious that buyers do not receive ownership when they purchase digital games.

When completing a digital transaction, customers have to click buttons such as "Buy Now" and "Confirm Purchase," which they argue is particularly misleading. While Sony does link to its various terms and agreements before a transaction is made, these documents are extremely dense and complicated. The information regarding digital ownership is hidden within thousands of lines of text.

Now, Sony must show that the digital license disclosures are accessible and obvious at the time of purchase to avoid facing a lawsuit.

A classic "well, you should have read the EULA!" argument. Here’s to hoping Sony gets what’s coming to them.

Housemarque co-founder Ilari Kuittinen is stepping down from the company:

He probably saw the writing on the wall and wants to tuck tail and run before Sony starts layoff at the studio after the failure of SAAAAROS.

"End of an Era" is the single gayest, most self-aggrandizing and pompous way you can ever announce you're walking away from something you've been involved with for awhile. Civilizations have eras, not individual vidya devs. Arrogant asshole :story:

The only "End of an era" I'm interested in is in the backtracking of Sony entertainment moving to CA, going back to japan, putting industry men back in charge and reopening not one, not two but at least 4 different Sony game studios. And as a cherry on top I would like to see Hermen Hulst destitute and reduced to being an assclown for a pittance.

Never thought i would say this about wolverine but he looks like a soycuck pussy. This game will hurt his image going forward worst than any comic run he was involved with.

I guess Liam McIntyre baby face make the woke feminists feel less threaten.

Insomniac's Wolverine game is a R rated game for pansies. That has multiple settings to remove gore & R-rated language to accommodate the "modern audiences" AKA broader audiences (as they have changed it to now). In the video below you can see the sandal wearing soycuck get watched by the woke feminist so he is kept in line.

New State of Gay announced.
I can't even rate this Optimistic because I have no hope left for Sony.

I'd like to see him tied to 4 horses sent galloping in different directions.
The future of "Intergalactic" is looking bright, what really brings in the gamers is smug Blasian women.

Just driving the industry into the ground.
How about showing a sliver of gameplay instead of gassing up the cutscenes? I know you just want to make movies, Naughty Dog, but you could at least pretend you're still a game studio.

These companies know damn well that if they tried to pitch their shit as movies, absolutely NOBODY will watch them. No way in hell they would even get theatrical releases either, just straight to tv/streaming shit if they're even lucky.

They all want to be the next Kojima/Cage so fucking badly.

Given they'd presumably have Sony's backing they probably could get them into theatres, where they'd do as well as Morbius and Madame Web, but with zero meme potential because Neil Druckmann is a joyless twat.

Basic policy regarding customer harassment.

(Auto translated with Google).
Basic idea
We strive to provide honest service to our customers so that they can use our products and services with peace of mind, and we value their feedback and use it to improve our services.

On the other hand, the personality and safety of employees must not be threatened by customer harassment, such as behavior or requests from customers that go beyond what is considered normal by society.

We will respond firmly to such actions and aim to build healthy and sustainable relationships while respecting both our customers and employees.

Examples of customer harassment
  • Persistent, repeated, or prolonged requests
  • Excessive or unreasonable demands for compensation or apology
  • Abusive language, threats, slander, etc
  • Requests unrelated to goods or services
  • Intimidating behavior and forced kneeling
  • Discriminatory or sexual behavior
  • Attacks and demands against individual employees
  • Visiting our offices or related facilities without permission and requesting visits or assistance
Examples of customer harassment are not limited to these.

Our response
If customer harassment is identified, we may limit or discontinue customer service to protect employee safety.

Furthermore, if we deem it necessary, we will work with the police, lawyers, etc., to consider responses that include legal action and criminal proceedings.

Requests to Customers
To ensure that all customers can use our services with peace of mind and to protect a healthy working environment for our employees, we ask that you understand the contents of this basic policy.

You'll not harass the mega-corporation, chud!

Fucking pussies.

Who is actually doing this? Or is this another "shit that's never happened" scenario?
A guy in a Crash costume showed up outside of Nintendo HQ once, it was all over tv back in the day.

This bitch is ugly and off-putting and I will not buy or play her game.

Oh they're getting hyper-sensitive about any pushback these days. Not just the game industry either. I had to help my mother with a fraudulent Paypal charge a couple days ago and during the phone call with their retard jeet support people I happened to use the word "damn" while joking with my mother about waiting for repeated verification texts to arrive so the jeet could do its job (I believe I said "yeah I'll just click it once the damn thing actually arrives" sarcastically because they'd had trouble actually sending the text). The jeet immediately latched onto the word and barked "you don't have to be rude I'm just trying to do my job."

They're trained now at all levels of customer interaction to look for any excuse to end the interaction and deny you service, refund, product, or whatever you're seeking. You have to push back hard and correct their error quickly (in my example I immediately responded "I wasn't talking to you, but you'll know when I'm being rude, don't worry") or they'll walk all over you every chance they get and use any language they don't like as an excuse to not have to do their jobs.
