If Valve couldn't bring the Steam Machine to market for less than a grand there is no universe in which the PS6 launches at less than $1,200 for the base model.
the issue with valve messing up the GabeNBoX price is because of the ram fuckery, which sony has plenty of ram chips on their storage (allegedly).

Supermassive is laying off most of their staff.

Good. Game Dev trying to scale up infinitely has produced so much slop that just isn't worth buying, these fuckers deserve the unemployment line.

I swear, Game Dev requires a certain level of autism, and the more people you try and cram into the project the more the autism dilutes.

A companion handheld for the PS6 actually would be awesome if it had its own games. Instead of being a digital only shittier Steam Deck where you can play God of War: Laufey at 720p 25fps

I wouldn't trust Sony with another stand alone handheld after the way they abandoned the Vita. They are trying to imitate the Steam model where people can play the same games on a power limited handheld and a more powerful stationary set-up box interchangeably.

While still rumor, the rumor is, based on the specs that we know about it, it might literally only play ps6 titles through cloud streaming.

It was the YT channel "Moore's Law Is Dead" that reported the leaked specs of the PS6 handheld chipset confirm it will run games natively but at lower settings and performance than the PS6 console. No doubt it'll do streaming too but it is not a "PS Portal 2" scenario.

Sony is better positioned to get more favorable deals for RAM and storage in bulk because they have the capacity to produce and sell tens of millions of units and deliver these to retail stores, plus they have long term contracts in place with part suppliers due to being a legacy hardware manufacturer. Even so, the days of selling hardware at a loss are long gone so the price of the PS6 will be reflective of the market conditions.

Comparatively, Gamer's Nexus through interviews with Valve engineers has revealed that the company is a literal nobody to suppliers, there is no preferential or beneficial contract with RAM manufacturers. Essentially Valve asks these suppliers and when they get a call back the transaction boils down to: "This is the RAM we have and this is the price you are going to pay for it. if you don't want it, fine but don't ever call us again".

Valve is meaningless to these people, in Gamer's Nexus tear down of the Steam Machine they discovered that the stick (singular) of RAM inside of it had been assembled in 2026, so Valve is buying RAM at its highest price just like any regular chum off the street. Never mind that shipping the Steam Machine with a single stick of RAM gimps its performance when compared to using a dual channel memory configuration. It is not even an easy upgrade either for a regular consumer as the entire thing has to be disassembled to access the RAM slots.

The situation is so bad for regular consumers and smaller companies that GN explained the big three RAM manufactures need to sell to only sixteen clients in the entire world to sustain themselves financially. (Big megacorps like Amazon, Meta, Google, Microsoft, Nvidia, etc)

Also, as per Gamer's Nexus, 70% of RAM production is going to AI data centers while everyone else has to fight for 30% of the scraps.

The MSRP will be between $1500-$2000, but the street price will probably end up being like $3,000 because normal people aren’t going to buy that shit and the majority of people that will buy will be scalpers :story:
For any game system over $1000 that does not have a disc drive, I fully expect it to be preloaded with a murderer's row of retro games if not a full on AI content generation program with zero restraints on what it puts out and zero fucks when it comes to violating copyright.

If only they could figure out how to make one where the game isn't shit?
South of Midnight
Relooted
Forspoken, light skinned, definitely mixed.
HL 2 Alyx the character is only half, and you wouldn't even know looking at her.
Dishonored Death of the Outsider is basically a re-hash standalone would have been DLC thing for Dishonored 2 but I know nothing about this one.
Beyond Good and Evil potentially again maybe a quarter black or an octaroon that again you wouldn't even know just looking at the character

Anything else is either a shared cast(like Resident Evil 5) or the character is only half black at most(again... RE5). So basically the only two that would meet their requirements are... South of Midnight featuring a black girl picking magic cotton and puzzle skip buttons, and a game about an african woman breaking into museums and stealing shit? No one is making these devs make games about black women stealing shit or picking cotton, that's a choice entirely of their own. Hell, there's so few of these games featuring black female "protagonists" that are actually on their own, and aren't mulattos or octaroons that do stereotypical nigger shit one could even ask these idiot devs "what did they mean by this?" They've had the entire past decade to make whatever slop they want, and apparently didn't... but when they did they might as well have made their main character named Shaniqua eating fucking watermelon to get superpowers for her weave.

I found Directive 8020 extra funny (watched, first one I didn't play) because besides the fact blacks would own a Weyland-Yutani style space corp, the negress doesn't really get more screentime or importance than any of the other characters other than a throwaway reason. In fact it's the tomboy girl whose face model has been in like every other one of their games who has more impact and affects the story more. This is the negress's first game with them so they chose her exactly for this purpose and to center her in press as a protagonist when most of the cast was in other games. Even South of Midnight had SBI to alter the story enough so there is a reason to virtue signal other than as a token advertisement, but not Supermassive lol.

Sure but once again, that's still not a black female main character either. Glancing through the 6 hour playthrough I found, you seem to spend more time playing as a white guy or some asian woman, and then a black guy for episode 6. The black female character in that game isn't leading shit from a gameplay perspective and at best is once again part of an ensemble cast.

And if they're saying the company run by space negroes is some weird corporate dystopian fuckup instead of a normal functioning company... "what did they mean by this?" still applies.
