Those games are all at least three/four years old. "Late if ever", indeed.
They've been begging for bloodborne for way longer

Their IP Growth strategy seems to be working though, but the amount of money they're dumping into mobile development suggests that those are going to be spearheading their PC releases in the future and not their single player games. You're going to probably see a larger divide between people who play on PC for multiplayer and those who want a single player game. The people who want single player games are most definitely going to be drawn to consoles.

With the way things have been going, especially with the projected $300M growth from PC sales, Sony is going to start releasing all their games day one on PC and console. I guarantee that by the time the next trailer for Spider Man 2 drops, there will be a message at the end that says "also in development for PC" and the Wolverine game is certainly guaranteed for a simultaneous release on PC and console at this point because it's much further out than Spider Man 2.

They're not doing day 1 for PC games outside their mobile MTX titles. The majority of their PC growth is expected to come from those.

Sony has to pay a cut to steam, meanwhile they have their own storefront where they control everything. For PC to be equal they would need to have PSN work as a separate launcher and a competitor to steam. That's what would be required for PC to be considered equal to the consoles.

I still think they're going to be doing a limited console launch window, but it's not going to be years anymore. I have some friends who have no self control and bought PS5s just to play the Demon's Souls remake, those are going to be the bozos targeted by the current strategy, get the chumps to buy a few consoles just to play the bloodborne remake six months early, then drop it on PC to get the rest of the market onboard.
Even Xbox seems to be following this strategy to some degree, and I'm pretty sure they got their entire library on PC at this point

Xbox is using this strategy because it requires you buying a Microsoft Operating System. Microsoft's PC area is much stronger while Xbox is signifgantly weaker.

Sony does not have such a thing in place. The PS5 is the core of their operations.

imagine paying for Windows

You know you can activate it for free using admin tools right? Alongside the LTSC version that doesn't really do data collection?
Yes but you still have to sign into your account in order to access the xbox features.

Everything is online for them, that's why when their servers shitted the other month people couldn't access their games.

Microsoft is already releasing pretty much every new game they publish day one on Steam. There isn't a new title they are releasing in the near future that isn't coming to Steam at this point.

They're both separate parts of the same end goal of having the series expand internationally. They're wanting 12 to expand in western markets it's being made with that in mind, the game has to do more than what 11 did.
Prove the actual design and production of DQ12 is being made with that in mind. And no, marketing is separate from the product itself, so you can't cite increased/improved marketing to prove that the team is actually making the game with the marketing goals in mind.

Proof, let's see it.

Marketing really isn't separate when it comes to the product itself when it comes to games.

marketing for games makes up most of these large budgets.

Proof. Let's see it.
Geez you don't remember how much they threw at Destiny?

One of the first video games to be produced at a blockbuster or AAA scale was Squaresoft's Final Fantasy VII (1997),[4] which cost an estimated $40–45 million (inflation adjusted $68–76 million) to develop,[5][6] making it the most expensive video game ever produced up until then, with its unprecedented cinematic CGI production values, movie-like presentation, orchestral music, and innovative blend of gameplay with dynamic cinematic camerawork.[7] Its expensive advertisement campaign was also unprecedented for a video game,[8] with a combined production and marketing budget estimated to be $80–145 million (inflation adjusted $129–234 million as of 2020).[9][6] Its production budget record was later surpassed by Sega AM2's Shenmue (1999), estimated to have cost $47–70 million (inflation adjusted $73–109 million as of 2020).[10]

Marketing budget has always been part of the overall development costs, especially now since advertising prices have been raises very high.

Sony would benefit very well if they were to announce a remastered Sly Cooper series to pair with Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart’s success on the PS5, but I don’t think they’d be able to do it well.
