Joel looks even older in the remake and Ellie's face looks weird.
It looked weird before too, now she just looks weird but also 40 and more masculine.
NOOOO! No! The Last of Us was made using 2009-2010 Sony motion capture gear. The remake is using the latest Sony gear, created a decade beyond the old game, it is way more advanced. That's why everyone looks weird and ugly.

Bandai Namco was able to put their own store exclusive special edition of Tales of Arise up and Elden Ring and that didn't brick their site either.

Nintendo couldn't even match those standards.
False. The north american bandai namco store crashed several times during the release of the Elden Ring bandai namco store limited collectors edition.
They also managed to fuck up charging anyone who didn't save a card to their bamco store account, causing hundreds of orders to get cancelled days before release.
stop pulling shit out of your ass

The Shadow of Colossus remake got a full priced special edition on the PS4 and that's a PS2 game
Because it is Shadow of The fucking Colossus.

When your title is held up as a definer of literally the biggest console in history, and has a cult like fanbase, you can do that. It also helps that the PS4 edition looked significantly better than the PS2 and had some extras, whereas TLOU looks like shit compared to the original from two gens ago. One understood the art style and made tweaks, while the other destroyed the art style and lighting for realism. It also helps that the team behind the SOTC remake were fans and interacted with the fanbase, even putting in a nice acknowledgment of the 17th Colossus rumor that the community spent a decade looking for. Meanwhile, Druckman seems to hate Naughty Dog’s previous creations and fans.

Nintendo gets away with charging $45 for 2-3 roms that are 35+ years old.
Special novelty product. It wasn’t a game card, it was a legit Game & Watch system that happened to play Zelda, which, for $45, is a neat thing to have.

I can name two exclusives: Rift Apart and Astro's Playroom. Okay, I'll even count Demon's Souls.
Destruction All-Stars can’t even get a pity mention.

So I've been diving through my older console game collection and decided to play Sega GT for the first time. It's a solid experience, handling does seem wonky. But you want to know what Sega GT has that GT7 doesn't?

Selling.
Your.
Fucking.
Vehicle.

Why can't GT7 have that feature? I mean we all know why, but it literally makes no sense outside of that reason alone to not include it. Something tells me it's not trying to be a authenticate car experience.

It Worked On My Machine®

But even today when Trails of Azure went live, I was able to pre-order the limited edition without issue. And Kiseki has quite a larger following than it had compared to a few years ago.

You're really arguing about preorder pages?

You gonna preorder The Last of Us: Part I?

GT7: Online only MTX-riddled hellhole where you can't even sell cars?? Let's not forget the fact they are raising the price of Vehicles 'to match inflation' yet they cut down the rewards for different tracks for balance reasons???

Also, the AI is completely braindead for a racing game, the single player campaign (the Cafe) is laughable compared to past GT games, the forced feedback on racing wheels got nerfed (even though part of the nerf was reverted in a patch yesterday), there's no rotatable chase cam (which is a feature in pretty much every other racing game, except GT, for some reason), there's very few new cars (i.e. no Bugatti Chiron, no C8 Corvette, no McLaren Senna, etc.), and some fan favorite cars are missing. (i.e. the Lexus LFA)

You know, people shit on nintendo for remasters, but when they put out shit like Mario Kart 8 deluxe they make sure to include the FUCKING DLC IN THE GOD DAMNED GAME AND NOT THINK THE GAME IS WORTH MSRP+~40% MARKUP

Sounds like I should just play GT4.

No if anything I'm going to buy it on discount just like I did with the original remastered version.

But that's also if I feel like revisiting it and it's like between the new Resident Evil remakes and the New NOT DEADPSACE BUT ITS REALLY DEADSPACE, I just can't find the original game all that enthralling, especially now with the new competition it's going up against.

If they were to open up the world and have it be like Horizon and GOW, it would be worth a look because it would mean their modernizing their gameplay systems and it would mean more dynamic encounters and a chance to bring back formerly scrapped ideas.

But I get my fill of corridor running with the Souls series. Naughty Dog has kind of become like a one trick pony. Companies can most certainly get by by making one singular thing over and over, except there are usually incremental improvements between installments or variations to the formula(i.e. fromsoft). But here they've clearly stagnated. It's not really anything that's showing ambition like Sony's other studios.

Like I will be more forgiving if a studio tries a serious attempt at a genre that they're unfamiliar with. If the game checks most of the boxes that the genre is known for and does the systems with care and has thought behind them I'll give it a pass. But Naughty Dog has been running with TLOU since the end of the PS3 era and only has made two uncharted games and one TLOU game. And there's very little variety between both series at this point.

They added more DLC to mario Kart 8 and it's stuff ripped from the mobile game and they're charging full price for that on top of the original. It's not really a bargain for a complete experience.

Why does Neil Druckmann even need to direct an episode of The Last Of Us live action TV show, while in the same breath have Sony give us another remastered video game that was made almost a decade ago?

Not even the Uncharted movie was like this.

Not gonna defend Nintendo, but you can bet your cherry red ass Nintendo could have made a mint by just not reimplementing all the characters cut from Smash 4 and its DLC right in Ultimate from the get-go.

ADDED

All content available in the Wii U version, both on-disc and DLC, was included on-cartridge in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. It is very much a complete game, with the option to buy more tracks added later.

Sony Direct sold out of the Firefly Edition within an hour or so apparently

Druckman's Ten Thousand Year Reign shall continue uninhibited. A man who can sell you a game thrice over and with a (mostly reasonable) upcharge is no failure.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe contains Wii U DLC. They only recently added DLC. Actual tracks and characters, not "accessibility features."

So did Cyberpunk 2077 and we all here know how that ended, preorders have never been a measure of quality

That’s usually true, but I’ll always hate how the Wii U version of Tropical Freeze launched at $50 and later dropped to $20 while the Switch version is still $60 despite barely adding anything.

No, Marissa, MK8D doesn’t retroactively stop being a complete game just because they made an expansion five years after the original game’s launch.
