So let's go over the whole thing with PlayStation, starting from the announcement to discontinue physical media production by 2028 onwards:

  • Sony Announces Discontinuation of Physical Media by 2028 Onward
    • Immediately met with overwhelming backlash
      • NoDiscNoBuy, Pay Has No Limits, and other such scathing rebukes flood PlayStation's social media posts
      • Valid concerns over anti-competition as an all-digital PlayStation future means vendor lock-in and pricing concerns
      • Statistics dismissing the pro-all-digital future arguments spread and are subsequently ignored by Sony and the shill media
    • Psychological Warfare: Part I, attempting to sound reasonable
      • Sony announces a record player, something exclusively purposed for physical media playback
      • Sony announces a new arcade style controller, a symbol of an era where you actually owned your games
  • Backlash Spreads With Collateral Damage
    • Indie developers across the PlayStation ecosystem are catching flack as a result of Sony's plans to discontinue physical media
    • Everything under the Sony banner gets hit with community note footers exposing the anti-consumer nature of digital licences
  • Sony Finally "Responds"
    • Essentially boils down to "we did nothing wrong" and "we are satisfied with our decision"
    • Psychological Warfare: Part II, blanket dismissal of the customers concerns
      • It is later confirmed that Sony does not consider maintaining communications with their customers as essential, confirming what the majority affected by the news had already guessed, quelling all optimism of meeting their customers in the middle
        • This only galvanizes an increasingly popular sentiment: "if buying isn't owning, then pirating isn't stealing"
      • Sony raises the price of PlayStation products and service subscriptions across the board
        • More jarringly, they attempt loss prevention by selling PSN+ at a discount right after
  • PlayStation Network Boycott
    • Doomed out the gate: BOYCOTTS DO NOT WORK
      • A week, and then later indefinitely
      • Sony doesn't have to report dwindling numbers to their shareholders
      • A lack of conviction means people will come back anyways instead of adhering to their principles
      • Call of Duty effectively quashed whatever resistance a boycott rarely affords
  • The (Absolute) State of Play 2026
    • Fumbles out the gate:
      • Stream comments are left open...
        • resulting in a flood of non-engagement protests against Sony's decision to discontinue physical media production by 2028 onward
      • First feature is a trailer for the Resident Evil movie which obviously isn't a game
        • Nobody, absolutely nobody talks about the actual content of the games featured throughout the event, it is impossible to bypass the flood of protests stoked over the past three months
      • Psychological Warfare: Part III, constant reminders
        • LEGO scale-replica of the Sony PlayStation One, complete with an interactive lid for the disc drive, a taunting reminder of what the PlayStation brand used to represent rather than pandering to nostalgia
        • Sony's legal team aggravates the situation by saying reasonable customers already know they do not own their digital purchases
        • Sony intends to suppress criticism of the PlayStation brand through litigation under the guise of harassment, framing the backlash as a blanket bullying campaign in an attempt to diminish customer feedback they previously stated as not essential
  • Hideo Kojima Leaves Sony PlayStation for Good
    • PlayStation posts on X that they are distancing themselves from Kojima Productions and will no longer be collaborating with Hideo Kojima on Project PHYSINT, framing this as a mutual separation
      • The post is immediately footed with a community note debunking this as false:
        • Hideo Kojima corroborates that the decision to leave PlayStation was due to Sony abruptly cancelling Project PHYSINT without prior notice back in June of 2026, forcing him to spend the next three months finding support
          • Shortly thereafter Xbox Games Studio under Asha Sharma takes in Project PHYSINT with much celebration
            • This marks the end of an era, with the last vestige of the old PlayStation leaving for greener pastures
      • Psychological Warfare: Part IV, spiteful retaliation
        • That same weekend Sony's PlayStation posts screenshots of Death Stranding 2 and Metal Gear Delta
          • The latter shows disregard for Kojimas plans with Metal Gear Delta, coming across as petty retaliation for his past criticism of the decision to discontinue physical media production and subsequent departure
  • Implications of the Future & Miscellaneous Happenings
    • Psychological Warfare: Part V, feeding the culture war machine
      • Sony will block customer support if complaints involve criticism of the products and services, under the guise of harassment
      • Conversation of Insomniac's Wolverine on Reddit is rife with bot posts all saying variations of "I'm having a blast!"
        • This becomes the running gag for Wolverine
      • Wolverine is going to spearhead further culture wars as a distraction to prop up PlayStation and steer attention away from a worsening situation
    • Anemic first-party body:
      • Bungie: Marathon, which is peaking well below 2500 concurrent active players
        • Sony cannot deny the damage Marathon has done to their live service prospects, anyone who is still playing this for some reason should anticipate an impromptu shutdown of the servers
      • Insomniac: Marvel's Wolverine is a confirmed failure, endearing nobody
        • Sweet Baby Inc, which was reduced to five active employees, is under even more overwhelming scrutiny as an ideological screwworm infestation guaranteeing the premature death of future "games"
        • Gen-Z influencers such as Kai Cenat vocally DO NOT RECOMMEND Wolverine
      • Naughty Dog: Intergalactic the Heretic is a message nobody cares about, there's no real confidence or effort to AstroTurf by the usual suspects, it's more of the same banal and sanitized propaganda piece that will die in the womb
      • Sony Santa Monica: ??? Who?

The formatting here is lazy but with that said, PlayStation is a consistent source of depressing humiliation where the only news we get is how maliciously useless they are, complete with blatant psychological torture. Every other day or week something worse gets added to the above timeline. Everything above took place during the course of the summer season, and as of this post it's less than thirteen full days away from Q4 2026 meaning another eruption can and will likely take place anywhere between September 16 and December 31-onward.

EDIT: Sorry if this post constantly changes, apparently formatting with lists completely rapes your ability to preserve half of what you put in so it needs to be done all over the fuck again.

As a side note, there is a section where he gets stuck on a rock, he thinks "holy fuck I might have to move my analog stick 2mm to the left" and lo and behold the game rubberbands him out of it before he can finish formulating the thought. He doesn't trigger a fail or even a death for getting stuck, like even GTA 5 does this shit on most missions.

Well, it seems like the Wolverine Subreddit has an infestation of Blast-Havers

$10 gets you $20 the “Having a Blast” crowd is the single most HR-Speak Bot Farm I’ve ever seen.

I'm having a blast wondering how worse it can get for PlayStation while we're less than thirteen days away from Q4 2026.

The least Sony could've done is change their shill script after Marathon. And r/PlayWolverine is such a misleading name for a subreddit about a game that literally plays itself.

Apparently the Little Big Planet devs are tasked with creating a first party Animal Crossing clone for 2027.
There is no brakes on the money wasting train for this fucking company. Babygames on the console mostly owned by men who want to play shooty action slash/sports games? and the men who want babygames would have a much better time on Nintendo? Great idea, surely it won't end with another huge loss and dev shutdown. Astrobot was at least a platformer, I do not see this doing well at all.

This was incredibly well said.

At the end of the day all the nasty anti-consumer practices Sony engages in wouldn't matter if they were selling what people want, but they aren't.

For Sony customers, there's really nothing to look forward to from Sony, and thus no real reason to actually own a Playstation. It used to be that the PS1 and PS2 had pretty much all the best exclusives, and the most extensive and unique libraries of games. Modern Sony offers none of that.

Instead, they give you the chance to play Woke Cinematic Game 1, or Woke Cinematic Game 2, or a myriad of live service slop in a market already oversaturated with such choices.

And everything they make is created vindictively, meant to nag, insult and disgust the audience, you are never allowed to feel good, or powerful, or cool playing Sony games, you must always be emotionally assaulted by the product.

I'd feel bad for Sony fans if I didn't know that most of them are niggers lacking the emotional capacity to be affected by the work products.

Just saw the end of sneederine.

There's a 40 minute Fallout The Frontier horror nightmare sequence with jumpscares and the ghosts of characters you knew for like five seconds blaming you for not saving them and trying to guilt trip you which doesn't work because you knew them for five seconds.

Also Mystique has a foid meltdown and during her spergout towards Logan literally says the most women thing ever.

Lol
I wonder whose video/playthrough would be the best way to 'experience' Wolverine™.
