There's been no indication I can find that Interplanetary or whatever it's called is going to be anything other than the bog-standard single player action adventure shit ND is known for --if anything, the fact Cuckmann admitted they don't know how to make a live service game only further confirms this-- so there's no real avenue to monetize it beyond initial sale the way Rockstar do.

Add to that it's a brand new IP instead of the most recognized game franchise of all time and Naughty Dog have a severe uphill battle to make money off this, assuming the $600-million budget rumour is true.

I mean, even Hatred came out in 2015. IDK what this guy is talking about cause I don't remember anything political about Hatred. Woke was just taking off in gaming at that point so I think it was just a classic case of edgy to be edgy.

The leak was years ago and the game is still at least a year away. The game probably had a significant rewrite since then considering all that's happened. I hope not though, because that'd be funny.

Yeah people didn't even have that white guilt concept of "gooners" yet and hot women in video games were just hot women in video games because sex sells.
Back in 2003 a bunch of Japs we're sitting around in a boardroom somewhere saying "Oh, we have this decent fighting game, it's never going to live up to street fighter or mortal kombat but it has a pretty big fan base. Marketing and developing tells us that the reason it has such a big fan base is because teenage boys think the characters are hot as fuck. Now since fake ass, Trad larping shame hasn't been invented online yet I think we should make a volleyball game of all those beloved characters in skimpy bikinis."
The guy who came up with that game got a raise. Which in Japan means he gets a 20 minute lunch break instead of a 15 minute one now. The moral of the story being there was no such fucking thing as woke or anti woke back then. There was "PC" which only the most hardcore Christian conservatives who weren't allowed to have fun railed about.
Tecmo never gave a fuck about woke, they still don't in 2026. They just want you to pay as many micro transactions as they can get you for to customize your favorite babe.

I was referring specifically to the one that came out during GamerGate (Extreme Volleyball 2, I think?) where the publisher said that due to SJWs it wasn't getting released outside of Japan, which immediately lead to loads of GGers importing it to trigger the libs, own the libs.

The game was briefly pulled off of Steam due to the usual suspects complaining about its content and the devs gleefully did the rounds saying they were being censored which caused the game to get way more attention and sales than it deserved because it was shovelware crap.

I'm loving the (rightful) hate that Wolverine is getting. The paid shills and slop lovers on social media trying so hard to defend such stupid fucking decisions and boring ass gameplay is hilarious.

I do wonder if people are simply turning on shitty hold forward and press button movie gameplay, or if this is just a reaction to Sony getting rid of physical media though.

The gaming industry's continued insistence on "crunch" as a viable process is a major contributing factor to its ongoing decline. It's a sign of incompetent management, every single time, and they always punish the people they're managing instead of admitting their own fuckups, every single time.
