Emulation is tedious, can’t be done on a normal PS5, and can involve piracy which makes it bad.

If you disagree with all those reasons, then congratulations, you’re more tech-savvy than the average consumer. Most people will only consider seriously getting into retro games if they’re presented in a manner that is easy to pick up and play without any configuration, compatible with a current system that the person already owns, and is explicitly official without needing to move files around and dig through obscure sites in some bumfuck corner of the Internet.

Exactly, the average consumer has no idea how to use google.

Emulation is great for preserving games, but a lot of the time i rather play on OG hardware if i could, some games/platforms feel right with the OG controller (unless its the N64 controller, fuck that controller)

If they expand their streaming options behind PS1/PS3, then I may jump in. It would be a good excuse to replay Ratchet and Clank.
On PSNOW any game was streamable, I have to guess it will be the same here if you buy the most costly PS+ sub, only questions is will PS5 games but streamable and I guess they won't.

Ah i see that they skip metal gear in this service, wonderfull. So is Konami asking to much?

I think I posted it here before, if not please link me to the appropriate thread. GT7, 2 months after launch, is still a broken pile of shit.

I'm highly doubting that any of the glaring issues will ever be fixed, all they seemed to focus on was making the grind less tedious (99+ hours of non stop grind for a single non competitive car, before that method was nerfed) once that happened the huge war on the subreddit came to a halt, and the youtubers who were trying to get it fixed just shut up and started producing low effort content.

The game is riddled with serious problems that any other racing simcade fanbase would be embarrassed about. But because it's GT, all the fanbase cares about is Honda Civic go brrrrrrrr, problems be damned the rose tinted glasses are on and the nostalgia trip is happening, despite being nothing like a GT game

The whole community could be a cow of its own.

It feels like they're scraping the bottom of the barrel with that list. Siren PS2? A curiosity but no one will play that.

Mr Driller PS1? Fine game, sure, but it looks a bit rough and they have Drill Land available which is by far the superior version and looks absolutely perfect despite being 20 years old. Mr. Driller is a niche game so even Drill Land can't be that expensive.

If they're going for Playstation classics you would think a Lumines version would be on there, it was THE game when the PSP launched.

It's the perfect example of a list that looks good at a glance, but we'll all scroll past them a thousand times while bemoaning that there's nothing to play. It's not like they haven't been available, or discounted a thousand times before.

It looks like a dollar store or Lidl type of place where you can find the turkish versions of known products. This is bait.

I'd try Siren, I never got around to it. There's some interesting stuff but I guess Nintendo isn't the only backlog drop feeder in town. Just drop the PS1 and PS2 libraries already.

Why do they still want $60 for the PS4 controllers? I like using them to play games on my PC, but why do they cost more than a 360 controller?

PS4 controllers come with a built in rechargeable battery + a trackpad + motion control stuff
Besides demos like Astros playroom has any game actually tried to take advantage of the PS4/5 gimmicks? Most of the games just use the trackpad as the select button from what I remember

Aside form maybe the Tearaway game and Gravity Rush 2 on the PS4 (fun fact they were supposed to be Vita games, but Sony decided to abandoned that vision and re-tooled them for the PS4), most of them just seem to be used for certain utility features or button shortcuts and weren't ever a major focus. Some notable ones are Infamous: Second Son, Killzone shadowfall, Rayman legends and maybe the Witcher 3 as well, since you can open up multiple sub menus with each swipe.

So yeah the feature mostly served as just a gimmick, but some developers used that feature more so then others.

Some games use the trackpad like, well, like a trackpad. Like you can flick around maps in some games as if it's a touchscreen. Hotline Miami 1 & 2 let you aim with it. I think one of the Atari collections used the trackpad for games like Breakout that had analog controls anyway.

I can't remember a single game on the PS4 that used motion controls. Did Until Dawn use them for QTEs?

There was one QTE at the very end where you had to not move or you would fail from what I remember. I think there was a couple more scenarios that had that same gimmick but I can't be assed to look into it

In both Nier games, you can use it to pet or fist bump your floating companion. There's a way to do this without the trackpad.

All Sony controller gimmicks are half-assed. You can't change my mind on that. Conversely, Nintendo tend to go all in on their controller gimmicks, to their detriment.

The one decent gimmick PS4 controller had was gyro but studios were to arrogant to use it for aiming even as an option. It really is the only thing I want to see as an addition to Xbox controllers, especially since it's main flagship brands are fucking shooters
