Hell Japan has fallen under the influence of China with the Chinese mobile games now taking over their market. Genshin Impact has been heavily backed by Sony itself.

Chinese mobile games taking over, plural huh?
Okay, let me check real quick. statista

Genshin is the only Chinese mobile game on top 10, and it doesn't even come close to the game on rank 3, let alone the top one.
Confirm animu idol waifu horsegirls are too strong, or you know how combination of gacha and horse racing brings out that inner Japaneses (otaku or not) love for gambling come together.

I can also find billboard advertisement of a popular/trending thing in Japan too.

Picture from reuters article about the game success.

Also Genshin is being backed heavily by Sony, citation needed. Nevermind, it isn't real.

Edit: Houchi Shoujo is made by a Chinese company, so it's two Chinese games in top 10.

The data you have is old

China has very much gained a large presence in the Japanese market

As far as Sony backing Genshin impact, that's real as well, a large portion of the playerbase is on playstation. Sony has paid for advertising for the game and other things which is why they have Crossover events.

They only had one Collab then ditched. Also, I doubt Snoyny has any connection with the Chinks when it is more of Chinks playing puppet master to Snoyny and other companies.

OK I went down the list of a little over the top 100 selling games in total for the system

For sony I counted games they themselves developed and companies like Naughty Dog

For Nintendo I counted games they put out themselves and companies like Rare

Sony I scrolled down the whole list picking out first party games and got
48,129, 638

Nintendo I didn't even have to leave the top 10 and I got
53, 750, 000

Even if I were to throw in Spyro and Insomniac that wouldn't be enough. Starfox, Banjo Kazooie, and even Pokemon Snap still would trounce those easily.
You're dodging the question. Again.

This is what is important: how did first party PSX game perform compared to other games on the system? If first party games could be in the annual PSX top 10 or even the best seller of a year then that means they were popular and it easily disproves your idea that no one cared about first party Sony games. It's that simple. Do you agree?

I guess if you look at it like that and were going year by year rather than grand totals.
But if you were to apply the same metric to modern exclusives wouldn't they still rank higher in both the grand totals sold and in yearly sales?

Like if I'm understanding you correctly you mean something like an example, Killzone Shadowfall was a launch game on the PS4 and it was a high seller for the system for the first year because it had no real competition. But looking back on the PS4 the overall sales of Shadowfall were very low compared to what came later?

Like a situation similar to that? Where a first party exclusive would release and and still chart for the system during a shorter term time period?

Calling my data is outdated.

First article, strike one
Screenshot 2022-04-01 at 20-28-47 Chinese mobile games gain following in Japan with local flair.png
Saying 3 Chinese games stood out Genshin, Knives out (Battle Royale) and Houchi Shoujo (an idle rpg game).

Second article
Screenshot 2022-04-01 at 20-29-57 Beating Japan at Its Own (Video) Game A Smash Hit From China.png
is mostly about Genshin being big hit in Japan, yet it doesn't even bother mentioned other big supposedly big Chinese games.

Third article, strike two
Screenshot 2022-04-01 at 20-30-54 Chinese developers elbow into Japan's mobile game market.png
Talking about Knives Out on top Japan mobile game seller in 2018. This one is so up to dated and you can't even bother put this one next to previous Nikkei article.

The last article, strike three
Screenshot 2022-04-01 at 20-32-30 2021 Q3 Japanese mobile game market report 33 Chinese mobile...png
The good mention here is roughly 33 Chinese games are in 100 top mobile games in Q3 Japan (not even whole year) and they capture 27% of marketshare. With Genshin and Knives Out being in top 10 most selling.
So you have like 940 mil USD from these Chinese mobile games in martket, while entire Japanese mobile was 4.62 bil USD.
The data I have actually shows each game with billions USD, btw, because it's entire 2021, not just a quarter.

Nice moving goal post from "Japan fallen under Chinese games influence" to "China has gained large presence in the market". In before, they are the same. With that logic I could also apply how Korean MMO games affect on global market MMO.

But please, none of these things are related to Soyny. I won't bother replying the next one.

>Sony HATE thread
<literally fucking derailed by ONE defender
How many fucking pages are we up to with this shit now?!?!
After seeing both Ukrainian threads, I'm going to give it up. I did as much as a single person could, gave it my personal best, gave it my all. But in the end the pace and speed of both of those threads is like watching an Amtrak accident every 30 seconds, it even beat out both the TDS and TES threads. Alone, I cannot match such majesty, such grace, I have reached the preverbal glass ceiling, to break it would require the help of others.

Also Jim Ryan said recently, due to all their playstation hardware and software making bank they have enough cash on hand to make multiple large studio purchases this year. So in reality shit's fine.

the ps5 exclusives wikipedia page hasn't had a single new title added to it since its creation a couple years ago
sad!

currently out:
astros playroom - decent game, 3-5 hour play time, basically a glorified demo
demon's souls - bad remake
destruction allstars - awful
rachet & clank: rift apart - probably good if you like the series? don't know anyone who likes it but its certainly not a system seller
returnal - only actual interesting looking title on the console, getting a pc port eventually as per the nvidia leak

soon tm:
final fantasy xvi - not out yet
psvr2 titles - i'm a vr fan and I don't really see this turning out well (even though the hardware is neat), stock is just too low and most titles are theme park ride tier gimmick shit

i'd be interested to see if marissa could sell me on the ps5
i'm confident at this point that aside from a miracle or a jailbreak nothing could convince me to buy the damn thing

The only people I would recommend buying a PS5 right now would be people that only have $500 to spend (if you can even find one at MSRP) and who don't already have a reasonably capable PC and/or a ps4.

You aren't going to be able to build a equivalent PC for the same price and you would get access to the entire ps4 library.

Ehh FF 16 is only Exclusive for 6 months then it hits PC. If it was longer like HZero Dawn or over 2 years then I would count it as a pure exclusive.

I'm still kinda baffled the new R&C game didn't take more from Sunset Overdrive. Maybe not the humor but R&C would benefit greatly from having fun movement like SSO had. Not that it matters since Ratchet and Clank has progressively gotten more and more dull over time and Metal Arms was a better R&C game than any of the R&C games were.

Also Sony earphones suck ass, never had a brand of any product break as reliably as that shit in my life.

latest Famitsu chart have shown the sales performance of the last remaining PS games for March.

Upcoming japanese Playstation 5 releases are pretty sparse and I doubt the situation will improve much during the year:
Hyperdimension Neptunia Sisters Vs Sisters (April 21)
Disgaea 6 Complete (June 16)
DNF Duel (June 28 )
Soul Hackers 2 (August 25)
Legend of Heroes Kuro no Kiseki 2 (Q4 2022)
Granblue Fantasy Relink (supposedly 2022 but it's been delayed multiple times before)
Earth Defense Force 6 (2022)
Valkyrie Elysium (2022)
Gundam Evolution (2022)
One Piece Odyssey (2022)
All of them are made available on PS4 and most of them to be released additionally on PC day one

Upcoming japanese PS5 games also on Switch:
The Centennial Case A Shijima Story (May 12)
Yurukill The Culumniation Games (May 26)
Dragon Quest X Offline (Summer 2022)
Jojo Bizarre Adventure All Star Battle R (September 2022)
SD Gundam Battle Alliance (2022)
The Diofield Chronicles (2022)

That's like their only meaningful exclusive aside from Ratchet & Clank, and it's coming to PC. That's hilarious.

I highly doubt that'll be anything more than a timed exclusive. Not that it'll be very good anyway, if FFXV is anything to go by.

It is the year 2022 and people still treat final fantasy like we're in 1998.
To me, FF13 was the beginning of the end. I remember those marketing images where Lightning and some others characters were rendered in Louis Vuitton clothes and some nonsense. I really enjoyed FF12 and the vast world it created even if it borrowed a lot of concepts from Star Wars.

MS is currently doing that. Sony took a step with allowing their developers TO develop for PC.
With the way things are going I'm sure Sony will end up doing the same thing with their games on PC eventually.
One thing I will say for Sony: Their console names are nice and simple, like PlayStation, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3... Unlike Nintendo, Sega and Microsoft, who come up with faggy names like Dreamcast, Wii and xBox One. At least Sony's names make sense. Also, Sony consoles have fuck-tons of J-RPGs on them, which I dig.
Bro, Dreamcast was the most based chad name for a console ever.

FFXVI for PC was already in the Nvidia leak.

Speaking of which, who owns the rights to Sunset Overdrive? It's in limbo.
