Thanks for the clarification. I know virtually nothing about Sonic and Sonic fandom. Played the video games on Sega Genesis when I was a kid, but that's about the extent of it.

I figured that this had to be either some Sonic form I wasn't aware of, or a cheap Chinese knock-off.
 
It says "Sonic the Hedgehog" on the packaging.
