the next sonic game ill be talking about is actually one of the best. a video game rated positive by critics. and beloved by fans
i present to you.... Sonic Adventure. released in 1999 for the Sega Dreamcast
fans consider this to be one of the best sonic games.
this was the first sonic game for ryan drummond to start voice acting Sonic.
this was also the start of sega deciding to officially call Dr. Robotnik dr. Eggman in the west. he was called this in japan in the past installments
this game has 6 playable characters.
Sonic. his stages focus on high speed gameplay and getting to the capsule
Tails. his stages focus on him racing sonic to the capsule.
Knuckles. his stages focus on him searching for 3 pieces of the master emerald.
Amy Rose. they gave her an updated look. her stages focus on her running to the balloon while avoiding Eggman's robot, Zero
two new characters were introduced.
E-102 Gamma. a robot created by Dr.Eggman. his stages focus on him running and reaching the robot to destroy at the end.
and big the cat. a big fat cat that has a frog named froggy for a friend. his stages focus on him fishing (seriously?) and trying to catch froggy. kinda like sega bass fishing.
each of the playable character have their own theme song.
also. one of the best theme songs. open your heart was introduced in this game.
the game introduced two new other characters.
Chaos. a liquid being that was residing in the master emerald and is now working for eggman.
and tikal an echidna who is part of the knuckles clan that knuckles is decended from.
the game also introduced new cute creatures called Chao. and there is a Chao garden in each of the 3 adventure fields to raise them in.
this game has about 11 stages.
Emerald Coast (Sonic, Big and Gamma. Tails, Knuckles, and amy through glitch) a beach and theres a bridge where you get chased by an orca.
Windy Valley (Sonic, Tails, and Gamma) a valley where you walk on air and zoom around the sky
Casinopolis (Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles. Gamma through glitch). a night casino in station square that has pinball table. one of them is themed after NiGHTS.
Ice Cap from sonic 3 and knuckles (Sonic, Tails, and Big) a snowy field and you get to snowboard from an avalanche. just like in S3&K.
Twinkle Park (Sonic, Amy, and Big. knuckles through glitch) an amusement park castle in station square.
Speed Highway (Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles) a highway in station square.
Red Mountain (Sonic, Knuckles, and Gamma) a volcano with magma and caves.
Sky Deck (Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles) an outer deck on the egg carrier
Hot Shelter (Amy, Big and Gamma) an interior area in the egg carrier. this is the only stage that sonic cannot go into
Lost World (Sonic and Knuckles) the interior in the ruins in the forest of mystic ruins.
Final Egg (Sonic, Amy, and Gamma) the level in eggman's base in the mystic ruins forest.
later in 2003 this game was updated and ported to the Nintendo Gamecube, Sonic Adventure DX
the dx version. the models and graphics have been updated and the controls became more smooth. and lots of bugs and glitches were fixed.
instead of sending your chao to your dreamcast VMU card. you can send it to tiny chao garden in Sonic Advance 1 and 2 and Sonic Pinball Party.
once you collect all emblems. you can play as Metal Sonic in sonic's stages. only in trial mode.
the game has a new mission mode. where you go around the stage and adventure fields doing missions.
the game also has all of sonic's game gear games. the more emblems and missions completed. the more games you'll unlock
