So one of the top Sonic Crossworlds players is a troon and holy fuck they are a sweat. Snaking on a boost build that's insanely broken.

Sonic has always have autists dominating whatever ranks are available in the games and troons are just the new flavor of that. I am not surprised considering how easy it is to break the game and Sega never gives a crap about balance. I've won most of my races by doing almost nothing and hanging in the middle since i have a gadget that gives me one of the catch up items (the monster truck) at the beginning of the race.

You can go from running a pretty good race and then getting raped right at the finish. I've slammed my desk so many times from going from top 4 to almost last numerous times now. Items need balancing and rework for sure. It's incredibly frustrating that once item spamming occurs, you might have no way to outrun it, manuever it, or reasonably defend against it. There's also a lot of complaints on the steam boards where the lower placement items are showing up near the front of the pack. Boost Wisps almost seem useless in some cases. I'll use them, but can't pass someone, which I think are the boost/extreme gear players who are running max boost and them hitting dash panels just outrun the speed wisps. Toooo mannnny homing items. The green glove does not need lock on. The shuriken does not need lock on (this thing can be fucking hell to defend against).

I liked what i played but the game is the worst version of the MK adage of "the worst you play the better items you get." The people in 1st through 3rd have to pray everyone else behind them is just messing with each other otherwise they're getting hit 99 percent of the race. It's kind of my issue with these games where it's too forgiving with comeback mechanics. Before i ran my own little meta of hoarding a comeback item i used to (stupidly) think i could play the game and race so i got drift gadgets to help me learn the track. Learning the track in this game is sort of meaningless thanks to the game's whole gimmick which is the Crossworlds. The strategy for winning became play as cheesy as you can while having at lest average racing skills (drift correctly and don't hit walls or lose rings) since the defining factors of each race is if you get hit around the 3rd lap and lose any winning momentum as the 3rd lap is when everyone unleashes what they been holding the whole race.

Seeing the desperation of Sonic fans lately isn't surprising. They literally always do that one meme (I wish I could find it) where they act smug as hell at any sort of success. I bet anything when the next flop comes, they'll immediately do the "W-Well there's room for two kings, right?" or however the meme goes. They're really trying hard to make it out that Mario Kart World was a total flop.

Sega’s not helping either, trying to bring back the whole 90s negative advertising thing. And fanboys eat it up and shill crossplay of all things as a major advantage as though Mario Kart isn’t a NINTENDO game that’s exclusive to a NINTENDO system, like no shit it doesn’t have crossplay.

Isn't it a bit too early to make that accusation? Since the racing community is just checking out what's Sega has to offer before settling down with whatever they feel like and we all know that there's retards on both sides of the aisle.

I don't think we should pretend that two kart racers are deserving of any throne. Hell I'd argue the reason why MK is even considered in any way a "king" is because there's no court or kingdom. It's THE Kart Racer when like 98 percent of them are just licensed shovelware.

Nah Crossworlds has a lot of pretty and blinding colors plus the characters "roast" each other before doing lame kart racing things. It's worth the $80 😂

It's especially funny because Sega brutally lost their feud with Mario. There's a reason they don't have their own consoles anymore.

Mario Kart isn't even a mainline game. It can be argued that the series gets treated as an honorary mainline game because all the hype around it, but it's still a side game when the next real Mario game is announced. Sonic winning one over on the side isn't much the grand scheme of things.

ive been playing it and it's a solid arcade racer without the goyslop open world of mkw. i can see why people are suggesting it could compete with mario kart
