It's interesting how the actors in this seem to be the current VAs but somewhat emulating the voice acting from SA2/heroes a little. Come a long way from "you've got this sonic" and the comically overly angsty shadow lmao. Noticed a lot of the action in this one was actually cel shaded cgi models animated via quasi-2d animation methods. Makes me wish there was an actual game that utilized this stylization. Also liked the funny blink and you miss it comedy squeaker noises when the one robots head got caved in with his own sword and then kicked away in the span of like one second at around the 2:33 mark.

It's weird seeing the egg breaker mech from shadow operating unmanned. When I saw it in that one trailer flash I thought it was going to be the mustache man showing up for a sec and getting pissed at his stuff being stolen again.

Finally we get to see Team Dark again.

Let's go raid a GUN base!
Prior to that line they casually point out rouge is a fed. Millions of coomers somehow denying it for the last 2 decades' dreams destroyed in the blink of an eye (unless they don't watch this like they ignored the actual dialogue and hints early on in sA2)

ShTH and 2006 made it pretty clear she's a glowie, too.
I know, but I noticed a very specific trend over the last like 2 decades of witnessing degenerate shit online. that type of material only ever portrays her as if the shit she was doing as a cover in SA2 to get close to Eggman is her whole character. Parodies kind of do this too a little but not to the same extent. With parodies it's more lke pre-disney "stormtrooper aim" jokes before they retconned that into a canon thing to "correct the mistake of them missing constantly during the death star escape" which is funny because that "escape" was also a glow op by the empire who had already put a tracker on the captured ship.

Until it was destroyed by the Eggman Empire during Forces, anyway.
Sega doesn't care about continuity, unfortunately. Speaking of which, I thought Forces ended with everything being "reset" or something? I never did looked into the plot, that much

so awhile ago I posted my little mini reviews in the thread of some sonic fan games I played. I decided to finally go back and play freedom planet also which started life as a sonic fan game and became it's own commercial product. If you look at it and squint it looks like a sonic game.

I pirated it on Wii U when it came out and dropped it like 3 levels in because it stars a couple of furry dyke's OBNOXIOUS Sonic OCs and has legit like 5 minute long cut scenes between levels and I could not get past how much it was annoying me. I pirated it on switch this time. regardless the game is kind of weird I don't know if I liked it or not.

It's essentially a 2D sonic game with more complicated combat and more exploration focused level design. the level design is weird as fuck because it's almost metroid-y but still get all the way to the right of the level sonic style. At first it's cool but a few levels in they are so fucking big and maze like it's tedious and boring. the combat is kind of cool you have a main attack and a couple of charge meter moves that also act as further ways to traverse the levels and for platforming.

however, this game has one of the most INSANE difficulty spikes I have ever seen in a game like this. It goes from easy to hard as fuck about halfway through and gets down right NES hard by the end. I wish it had better pacing with that, some of the bosses are a serious fuck you pain in the ass.

the story reminds me of if they made a satam or Archie game starring random lesbians. I liked how dark it kind of goes, but the characters are stock uWu irritating furry types. the world is kind of neat. Overall I think ill take a break then take on the last playable character but I'm not rushing to do that or play the sequel. maybe if the difficulty curve is better and the levels aren't literally 30 minutes of where the fuck do I go? no shit some of the achievements in game are for beating certain levels under 28 minutes and shit. that is insane for a sonic like game way too fucking long.

Freedom Planet was interesting. I loved running through most of the levels as the purple Sonic OC girl. Once you get the hand of her launching move it makes moving around feel fluid and fun. There's also no collision with the enemies. Both you and enemies have to actually attack each other.
The story and characters suck, which makes it harder to enjoy. They did put in an option to just play the levels and skip the cutscenes, which I highly recommend if anyone decides to try it out sometime. Most of the characters were obviously supposed to be certain Sonic characters before this became it's own IP. Naturally the story is a weird mess with shifting tones all over the place.
This game was noted as being one of the only good Sonic games when it came out. Now Sonic isn't putting out as much trash, so no one cares about the watered down tranny versions in this fan-game, people can read the comics if they want more of that.

The creator of Freedom Planet trooned out between the release of 1 and 2.
