I swear to fucking god the tangle shit Ian talks about there is the most dobson-esque shit I've seen in a while lmao.
This logic of "oh they weren't intended as lesbians but a lot of fans and writers MYSELF included see them as lesbians but we can't make it official because of a technicality but it actually never was a thing but it totally is was and should be!" is like just a super double wide mobius strip loop of what you could literally amount to "No, but I want them to be because I like it like that". Bro can't even admit to the kind of shit as matter of factly as the shitty sesame street writer a few years back that claimed ernie and bert were gay before frank oz stepped in and was like "no I didn't make them as gay. they aren't gay they're just goofy friends who share an apartment"
EDIT: Also gonna point out that Surge and Starline are vastly inferior character designs to Scourge and Finetivrius or whatever his fucking name was. They're both based on game glitches from different games where sonic turns green in sonic 2 or knuckles turns white and has a bar of stars as his name in knuckles chaotix. Surge at least KIND OF looks like the thing she's referencing but the other guy just looks like an original the character guy that'd be in an edgy dynamite dux reboot with his colors and name being the only real thing tying him to the knuckles reference. A bunch of people I know like his design but he just looks shit to me compared to other sonic characters lmao, just a weird stink about him i can't place.
And those are even more wild because they start as solid-ish comedies but then get hijacked by the fake ass "wholesome gay" melodrama nobody came for and then they kinda gradually shrivel up once the earlier stuff starts being claimed as "never canon".

You’d be surprised (or maybe not) how many modern writers pull this card. “We can’t SAY that they’re gay but we’re going to do everything in our power to imply it as heavily as possible without explicitly saying it then shun anyone who says they’re not”.

One thing i've noticed Nu-Sonic fans love doing is shitting all over the Archie comic for being "weird and made by p*nders!", casually ignoring that he only really worked on it between the mid 90's and early 2000's, and most of the later Archie stuff was written by Flynn. They also love to smugly gloat about how "IDW is canon and Archie never will be! Sorry Sallychud, but you'll never see her again!"
Honestly while I don't really care for either comic, I eagerly await the meltdown that IDWfags will have if Sega takes the license to make Sonic comics away from them, thus making the TRUE AND HONEST addition to the "canon" no longer canon.

I still don't understand all the irrational hate Sally has. I mostly grew up with the SatAM cartoon and the Archie comics, and watching nu Sonic fans shit all over the older stuff is just utterly baffling to me.

The trick is to go to the higher platforms (which, let's be real, is true for most sonic levels). Make sure the spinning wheels that suck you in are spinning to the right before they suck you up so that you're not getting dropped to the bottom. Also practice the timing of the dissapearing platforms. They are usually in a rhythmic pattern where you can easily spot them out before they even appear.
Act 3 will be the one you will have the most difficulty with since it's Labrynth Zone all over again,. but if you can run as fast as you can to the left to the drop before the sliding platform closes that gap, you can access the shortcut route so you're not spending fucking forever there

I've seen Cream rabbits cannibalised by super edgy emo Tails. All those moments lost in time, like webcomics written by perverts after they DFE. Time to sperg.

In all the years since I first was introduced to sonic via a 6-in-1 cheapo plug-in-play system I never made it that far. The farthest I made it for a long time was Spring Yard Zone. Later I made it to labyrinth and gave up there. I recently revisited the game with the goal of beating it and I managed to do do today. Holy fuck the later zones are hard and tedious as fuck. After that though, I started playing Sonic 2 for the first time and got through the first few zones so far without really getting stressed out.

Sonic 3 & Knuckles is my favorite but between that, Sonic, Sonic 2, Sonic 3, Sonic & Knuckles, Sonic 2 & Knuckles, Sonic Spinball, Sonic Wacky Worlds and Sonic CD it is a matter of inches, not feet.
There are no other good Sonic games.

The mech gameplay itself isn't too bad on paper since the stages for the most part take their clunky weight in mind, but what's bullshit about the mech stages is that in a lot of them the game loves throwing you enemies out of nowhere to blindside or take a cheap shot at you, especially annoying if it happens over a bottomless pit interrupting your hover.
Tails' Eternal Engine is the worst offender of the lot with a lot of instant-death traps placed around and it discouraging you from haphazardly locking onto everything, when you're likely getting assaulted as much the instant you walk into a group or ambush. I don't mind trial and error but this feels like the cheap sort that just doesn't vibe with me.
SA2 is a decent enough casual experience but 100%-ing it and getting every emblem is painful and makes you hate the game.

Eternal engine was Tails' last stage so the tricky difficulty shit it pulls has an excuse. Was pretty easy to me as a kid, just had to make sure to avoid getting sucked out lmao. Don't charge into rooms as the doors open, don't shoot all over willy nilly, pay attention to what you blow up and you'll get through smoothly.
Literally an intended challenge. Only one that was truly painful for me in a jank/unfair way was the car stages where you couldn't touch anything or you lose.

In a twisted way, I’m almost disappointed we never got a Sonic and MLP crossover comic, given that both are IDW and Ian Flynn worked on both. The meltdown would have been unrivaled.
