Rather appropriate that Sonic Frontiers comes out on the same day as Election Day in the U.S.

Eh, all these games that come out now are almost embarrassingly broken. At least when denuvo is cracked/removed the game will be in a better state.of course the game has Denuvo and im too lazy to set up the switch emulator. being a pirate in current year sucks.
It seems like it is (like good, not GOTY material). It's hard to judge because reviews are alwaya shit to whatever Sonic shits out and years after you start seeing people praise those games. I have liked what I've seen tho.Not expecting a game of the year candidate here, just hopeful thats its better than most recent entries
After playing it myself on the actual hardware, there's constant environment pop-in when undocked. You can visibly see the LOD in-action as low-res textures and models jarringly switch to better quality ones... after you're within a couple feet of them.Does anyone know how Frontiers runs on the Switch?
Pop-ins happen on PC as well. Cutscenes are 30fps, stable 60fps otherwise. Let's see if those things actually get fixed or modders have to pick up the slack. After playing it myself on the actual hardware, there's constant environment pop-in when undocked. Performance-wise, it's at least running a consistent 30fps most of the time. The main lag-spikes I've encountered in the first island are whenever you complete the missions to unlock the map, the blue dot/grid overlay really gets it tanking performance.
I hope it gets some music awards because holy shit the OST is insane. I keep replaying the Cyberspace levels because I want to hear more of the soundtrack in these areas. The island bosses have amazing vocal tracks as well. Not expecting a game of the year candidate here, just hopeful thats its better than most recent entries
people call Generations the best 3D sonic for a reason. its like a love latter to sonic fans. you should check out some mods once you finished the game since the mod scene is big and still active today. i remember installing a mod that lets you play all the sonic day time stages from unleased with the generations engine. a big deal for someone that has never played unleased on the 360 or ps3.Sorry to break up the Frontiers talk but I recently tried the PC version of Generations for the first time. I only played 1 stage for each version of Sonic but it's pretty good so far. I just wonder if it stays good? People seem to like this one.

I wonder if Generations is to blame for this classic/modern split. They started catering to the fans of the older stuff, which I’ll forgive for an anniversary game, and now they seem unable to stop. Now every new game needs Green Hill, Chemical Plant, and Sky Sanctuary, lest the classic fans get pissed they weren’t jerked off this five-year cycleSorry to break up the Frontiers talk but I recently tried the PC version of Generations for the first time. I've actually played Generations before but it was the 3DS version, and it's basically it's own game like the DS version of Colors was (which is a very good and overlooked game, nobody talks about it). It was pretty crappy.
It did start with Generations but then it became full apparent thanks to Mania and Forces. I'd even say that the complaints from the classicfags began even before Generations, when Sega tried to lowkey pander to them through Advance and Rush series (and even Sonic 4).I wonder if Generations is to blame for this classic/modern split.
